Hi all,So we are starting to work with Partners more in events and some programs. We are trying to map out how we will take in those leads differently (both strategic and channel partners) than our own leads.Does anyone have insight or examples of how they do this in other companies? And also how we can see the influence of our reach and the partners' in reports?I know some people use Workspaces but could segmentation work?Thanks!

My email performance report for some programs show the correct amount of sent, delivered, opened, and so forth, but with almost no clicks. But when I look in the program I have a lot of clicks (progression stage trigger on click in email). E.g. the email report shows 17 clicks, but 169 people filled out the form behind the link. Does anyone have an idea what this could be?

Loved seeing the updated, mobile friendly Marketo interface. Just wondering if similar plans are in motion for the community.

Hello,I'm embedding a Marketo form on a non-Marketo page, but the "Sign up" button appears to be shifting right about 10 pixels even though it is left aligned. It looks like a blank label ID is causing the issue, but the label section in marketo is empty. Any suggestions on how to remove this issue?

We have a very peculiar situation on our hands, and we are wondering how we could best prevent something like this from happening again.  We have a user that has signed up repeatedly for our product. Each time he signs up, he uses different info but his email address is the same. So this lead has been flagged in the "Possible Duplicates" list.  However, this doesn't prevent him from going through our drip marketing campaign each time he signs up. Is there a way for leads that are possibly duplicates of an existing lead to be prevented from going through a flow? This flow is triggered whenever someone signs up. Thanks in advance! Andrea

Four years ago, I began marketing enterprise consulting services after spending the prior 10 years in B2B enterprise software marketing. During this time, I've come to believe that the number of leads generated--in a B2B enterprise consulting enviornment--is a terrible proxy for whether our markting department is performing well. Here's why:We generate an average of 300 names/suspects/potential leads per month through an agressive combination of paid, earned and owned media. Yet over the past 3 years, only one of these leads has genereated a closed/won opportunity in excess of $15,000. In spite of this "low conversion rate," our consulting business has been growing quickly pver the same timeframe. As a new user, there are so many steps and considerations to pre-plan for I was hoping someone had a suggestion for a cheat-sheet or checklist to make sure we have everything covered before starting to program.

I am missing the comment field after a couple of test forms completion passes.  I have progressive profiling enabled but I have the comment box unchecked, yet when I go to fill the form out for the 3rd time of testing, the comment box is missing now from the form on the landing page.  Any ideas as to why this would happen?

We are currently working on creating a drip campaign for our Sales team to use to get in touch with new signups. I have a question about the last step of our campaign. This last step entails one last email from Sales to our new signups, to gauge their interest in our product. New signups will only receive this email if they haven't made contact with our Sales team yet.We would like the email to give signups the opportunity to do the following:*If they are no longer interested in our product, let us know.*If they are still interested, but are too busy, indicate so and we will get back to them in the near term.*If they are interested, setup a demo time with our Sales team. These three opporutunites will link to their corresponding text in the email. I have edited my company's Marketo "Salesforce Sync Options" such that it excludes from the activivities module things like: - Filled out form - Sent Email  - etc...   Is there anyway to have these my updates to the sync apply to previously sync[ed]  activities? Should I wait until a full system sync is completed?  Or will these "legacy" activities stay in my SFDC layout ad infinitum?Thx,Giovanni

We have the bidrectional sync setup for our SFDC and Marketo accounts. Checking a "Remove from Flow" checkbox in SFDC, removes the user from our drip marketing flow in Marketo. However, I was wondering if seting up a smart campaign in Marketo that removes a user from our flow upon a specific action, will check the "Remove from Flow" checkbox in SFDC? Can the bidirectional sync "check" a checkbox in SFDC? Please let me know if this is possible an dif you have any advice for how to setup this smart campaign. Thanks in advance!Andrea

How do you make a form send the completed information from the form to an email address?  Example, we want all completed forms on a specific landing page to be sent to our general sales email to be vetted out.

The latest release features some enhancements to the SOAP API, but I can not fiind any documentation.  Does anyone know if there is any?Steve

Hi, I have a question related to the article Get Alerts for New Duplicate Leads. My goal is to identify all new duplicates within my database (not necessarily new records). I have read article and created following filters.What I need to know is: - will this smart list flag any new duplicates based on either Email Address OR Full Name or just the ones that have been newly created and imported in database In order words, if an existing lead has two email addresses (e.g. cmaindron@ and c_maindron@) and the record number 2 email address is automatically overwritten by cmaindron@, will the lead be flagged in my smart list? or they won't because it's not a newly created lead. Same case scenario if a Marketo user notices a typo in an email address (e.g. cmiandron@) and corrects it, will the cmaindron@ lead be flagged as we now have 2 records associated to this email address Cécile @ Talend

A recent thread has led me to wonder how many people are doing this. I do it all the time with tradeshow list imports where some leads may not have provided an email address. I upload them to a Marketo program and then sync to SalesForce and do the de-duplicating from there.Some Marketo documentation indicates you can't import leads without email addresses, but I've never had a problem. Anyone else?Of course, I would never import leads without email addresses just to retain them in Marketo only.

We use our outlook exhange email groups to email groups of our own employees and sometimes want to use that group address in Marketo to include them on certain mailings. Example, I want to send my group-sales@mycompany.com an email about an acquisition in Marketo as part of a bigger list. That way I'm not always having to import everyone on the group sales list and want to let our exchange servers to the work and parse it out. I'm guessing this is not a best practice but can be ideal in a pinch.We see varied deliverability when doing this however. Sometimes it works fine. Sometimes half the group gets the message and half does not. Sometimes it gets put in the quarantine folder. Anyone else do a similar practice or have any insight? There doesn't seem to be any method to the madness for these. The only other discussion on this I could find in here was this one.

I could not find anyhing here related to the 2013 Marketo Summit, so I thought it would be a good idea to share impressions of the event. For those of you that went to San Francisco this week... How did you take advantage of attending the event, and what are your impressions (good or otherwise)?I will start answering my own question. I hope more people follow up on the post. I think it was a great even. It was very nice meeting in person so many of you and sharing experiences in the "Marketing Nation". Marketo was very open in terms of the road map which is always good, and one of my favorite sessions was Glen Lipka's story of the Marketo product design. It was a session that for me at least was an eye opener to better understand how Marketo got to where it is today. The application screenshots from the 2007 version compared to what is is now, explain a lot of the reasons of how we got where we are right now. Is there a way to export a campaign folder and all of it's smart campaigns into excel? I am currently having to pull each individual smart campaign into excel and place into different tabs. If this isn't a feature right now, I think it should be!

We send all our newsletters in 7 languages so I always use a language segmentation, but I would also like to segment on our user types (for instance admins and members). Is there a way to do this without creating separate emails?Of course each user type would need to get the information in their own language, so the segmentation would be nested, using a segmentation within a segmentation.

Hi - I'd like to create a series of redirects to a specific landing page for an online advertising campaign but it doesn't appear that Marketo will allow me to report/track the redirect URL, which is the URL I'm going to provide the ad vendors and will want to track how each ad is performing.  Is there a better way or another way to track activity on redirects?Any and all ideas appreciated.ThanksKim

What would the flow be if when a contact is created, I wanted the owner to be changed to whomever the account owner is?  Here is what I tried but it didn't work:Trigger:  When lead created and sfdc type is contactFlow:  If account owner last name is Smith, Owner name is Smith (I thought this would mean if account owner last name is Smith, contact owner name is Smith) but it's not working.

In another discussion item (Same Cookie Id, Different Email Address), I understand from Jep that the same cookie ID can be associated with two or more lead records.  If two lead records are associated with a Cookie ID does that mean that web page visits with that cookie ID will be added to the Activity Log of both lead records?

We run a lot of client appreciation events and invariably our clients ask if they can bring their own guests to the events (whether a friend, co-worker or spouse, etc.)The challenges we're facing are keeping track of who is bringing who and how we should ask our clients to register their guests...Have other Marketo users had this problem? How have you dealt with it?
