Know before you go!

Hello Summit attendees!

I’ve been to so many Summits I’ve lost count, both in Vegas and way back in Salt lake city days.

Here are some helpful tips to get the most out of Summit:

  1. Book sessions early, as they fill up, especially labs (definitely do a lab if you can)
  1. ‘Favorite’ all sessions you’d like to attend even if they don’t work in your schedule.  Then listen to the recordings when you get home.
  2. When picking sessions, pick those you aren’t already an expert in to try to learn the most while there
  3. Definitely take the time to network - this can be done in many of the mixers, the bash, at breakfast or lunch, in the community pavilion (I heard a good tip where you can get a QR code for your linkedin and have that handy when meeting people)
  4. Leave extra room in your suitcase for community pavilion/vendor swag (and bring a bag to put the stuff in)
  5. Stop by the Adobe community booth to speak with Adobe reps + Adobe Champions often congregate there and it can be a great way to get your questions answered
  6. Give yourself more time than you think you need to get anywhere - the Venetian gets really crowded during Summit and you always have to fight your way through crowds, plus the Venetian is huge so it takes a while just to walk anywhere
  7. Adobe is offering free certifications during Summit - definitely take advantage of this - what have you got to lose?!
  8. If you’re able to go before/after Summit, explore the area - get out of the Venetian, go down the strip, at least walk into the Sphere, go hiking, go to the Hoover Dam, etc!  Take advantage!
  9. Try to network BEFORE summit, by using this forum and others to see who you might want to meet, and make a plan to meet there. :)
  10. For Analytics users, see below for my recommended sessions

Those are all great tips! One suggestion I would add to @Meghan_Powers’s list is when picking sessions, focus on the in-person ones. Don’t spend time at Summit watching the online sessions, you can watch those when you get home. Use your time at Summit to do in-person sessions/labs or spend the time networking.

Great tips! Adding onto the distances you need to cover: Bring comfortable shoes, you'll be doing plenty of steps.

And it's dry out there. Bring a chap stick and maybe a pocket humidifier for your room.

Being a month later than normal I anticipate lots of sunshine, so some sun cream for outdoors moments is also a good idea.
