Change data capture - is Campaign Orchestration required?

Change Data Capture is not inherently limited to Campaign Orchestration. It is an Adobe Experience Platform Sources capability that uses Data Mirror with relational schemas, and the Sources API documentation does not state that an Orchestrated Campaign must be created in order to use CDC.

However, access to Data Mirror and relational schemas is availability-controlled. Adobe currently documents them for Adobe Journey Optimizer Orchestrated campaigns license holders, with limited-release availability for some Customer Journey Analytics users depending on license and feature enablement.

If the data is being ingested for Campaign Orchestration, then CDC is required for all onboarded datasets. For file-based sources, use _change_request_type with lowercase u for upsert or d for delete.
