If you are new to Marketo the prospect of building a lead scoring mechanism can be intimidating. There is alignment needed across the sales and marketing teams to define the model, which is never easy to get, involving a lot of meetings and communication, and then there is the implementation of the scoring mechanism in Marketo which can be equally challenging.   While getting alignment between the sales and marketing teams is not something I can help you with this post will give you some examples of lead scoring models for demographics and firmographics as well as lead scoring models for activity. Curious to see if anyone else has run into this since the switch away from Marketo logins to Adobe ID.  Often, I'll login with my Adobe ID, successfully, but instead of going to Marketo it will return to the login screen. Then, after logging in a second time, it will go through. Doesn't happen every time, but more often than not. I'm using the Adobe Account Access app with the push notifications, but my other users are having the same issue with passwords.  This is at most mildly irritating rather than a critical failure, but I'm curious to see if anyone has experienced this and has found a fix or a workaround. 

Hey y'all,  My team is running into an issue with our SFDC and Marketo Sync / Database. We were recently over compliance and deleted a lumpsum of records, however the next morning we discovered that they have all re-uploaded. We want to be able to sync records that interact with our marketing content but delete records that we have been wanting to delete and not have them re-sync through our systems. Has anyone ran into something like this? Seems like a vicious cycle we are trying to get out of. 

We have been getting web services error notifications for some time now with the user being our BigMarker (webinar platform) integration user. The error is a 1003 error code and varies in the count of errors each time. We have asked both BigMarker and Marketo if they can provide further details on the errors so we could figure out what needs to be resolved, but neither has been able to provide further information.  Wondering if anyone else has seen this same issue in the past and has been able to resolve it somehow? 

Hi there,I have a Custom Object called 'Platform User' which sits off the Contact Object. This Custom Object contains a field which can either be switched on, Yes, or off, No. I see some examples where this data change seems to sync into Marketo, but some times when it doesn't.Does the change to the Custom Object field have to trigger a change to the Modified Date on the Contact Object, or does that not make any difference? I would welcome some documentation on how these Custom Objects actually work. I can see an entry in the Person Activity Log when a connection is made between the Contact record and the Platform User record, and looking at the detail of the Activity Log entry is where Marketo tell me to see the Custom Object fields data. However, they also say that after the initial sync, any changes made to these fields will NOT be visible to me in Marketo, but WILL be stored somewhere, such that Smart Lists will pull the latest data field values correctly...however, until I know ca

Having an issue with CTA button alignment in the Outlook client for Windows. The alignment always gets pushed left no matter what we input in the template before sending it out. Any idea what would be causing this? Below is the code for one of our CTA buttons. We are considering Litmus as a replacement for our current Inbox Preview tool Email On Acid because they have some additional features like Email Guardian, Proofing, Personalization Tools, and additional Analytics. We have been told by our Litmus Sales Rep that the additional analytics feed back to the lead record in Marketo:Email ClientDark ModeRead, Skim, GlanceSuspected Apple MPP opensI found the developer doc for adding the Litmus code to an email, but I can't find any documentation on reporting and where the data can be found in Marketo. Does anybody use the Litmus integration with Marketo? Know that the data does map back to the lead record somewhere in Marketo? I'd appreciate any help I can get.

What would cause the UTM string to be re-arranged when hitting a webpage?In MKTO our utm string looks like this when added to emails: ?utm_source=mkto&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=XXX But when clicking through the link (in some cases) it shows up like this on the webpage: ?utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=XXX&utm_source=mktoAnyone have any idea what might be causing this? I am just curious. We've recently changed web platforms and since then have encountered that issue with some pages but not all of them.PS. We want a dynamic chat dialogue to load only when visitors visit a certain page on our website. e.g. /thank-you - this works fine by specifying this page as the only target URL in the list of target URLs in the dialogue settings.However, once visitors navigate away from that page, the chat dialogue icon remains for the rest of their session, even if they minimise it and move to pages which are not in our list of target URLs.This creates potential conflict with a chatbot we have on other pages of our site for a different purpose. Is there anyway to make the dialogue disappear completely once they navigate away from the target page?

Hello, My company has recently integrated Marketo and Survey Monkey - I have experience with Marketo but not Survey Monkey. Is it possible to generate and send (via Marketo) unique survey links as a way to track who completed a survey and their responses? Or, is there another method used to track who completed a survey and their responses? Additionally, any best practices for a novice when it comes to optimizing data using the Survey Monkey Marketo integration is welcome. We are making updates to the Marketo Engage permissions structure to offer more granular access control to your users. During these updates we will be introducing new permissions and redefining some existing permissions. While we are aiming to be as minimally disruptive as possible, these updates may require your business to update existing users and roles to avoid interruptions of tasks in some circumstances.   Need the TL;DR? Here's the short version: We will be introducing and enforcing new permissions for creating Lists/Smart Lists, Report assets, and exporting Smart Campaign results on May 21, 2024. These permissions will be automatically given to any user that can already take these actions today. Admins can later update their permissions structures to granularly assign them to or remove them from roles. Hi All, I was wondering what other people have done with existing data being pulled down from Dynamics (CRM) into Marketo for their acquisition source. This is a brand new instance and the acquisition source is not tracked in the CRM. If that person eventually goes through an acquisition path and their field being empty may update to that activity which wouldn't reflect the truth since its existing data.
