If you’re preparing to take a Marketo Engage certification test, you may be wondering what it’s like to take it remotely from your own home. I’ve compiled advice that I’ve gotten from other Marketo Engage Champions as well as my own experience taking the Adobe Certified Expert-Marketo Engage Business Practitioner (formerly Marketo Certified Expert) exam last year. I hope this helps set you up for success in your journey becoming Marketo Engage certified!   PSI vs Examity   There are two companies that provide remote administration of Marketo exams: PSI and Examity. PSI uses their own software to administer the exam. You can’t download or test your connection ahead of time, which can cause delays when you are ready to take your exam. Examity uses remote meeting software to proctor the exam (which you probably already have installed on your computer). This means you can test ahead of time and jump right into the exam when you log in.   I used Examity for my exam last year,

Does anyone know if Marketo has an interactive program for import with all the assets? I did not see one in the Program Library.

We are trying to use on embedded form on various non-mkto pages, being held in various sized containers, and I am looking to figure out how to make the 2-column form either be a smaller width 2-column form, and for the larger container one - span the form/fields evenly to fit the width of the larger container. For example - this page should have a 2-column form just smaller fields to fit the container (https://marketo-conversion--marketing-stage.netlify.app/ontario-volleyball-association). This is the same form in a different container, and see how there is more whitespace to the right (https://marketo-conversion--marketing-stage.netlify.app/leagues-and-clubs/signup) - click on "Sign up for a Trial" on the top tabs. And since one field spans the 2 columns - its responsiveness is non-existent in both scenarios. 

I've been working on trying to get UTM cookie values to send to Marketo when someone clicks a link.It's similar to this issue that was posted awhile ago. There are some situations where a user will navigate to a separate page and then drop the UTM's from the URL. So we are trying to capture those from the cookies and then send them to Marketo via a JavaScript click event. I've been reading and testing using the munchkin clickLink function, but I'm not sure that it's sending correctly. I've been reading up on some items here an there, but I haven't been able to find much around the clickLink within this specific scenario. I'm wondering if this is possible to do without needing to use a hidden form of some sort.  

I am looking for a way to add a datalayer push to a Marketo form button. I thought I had seen a way to add code awhile back in design studio but I must have been mistaken. Is there a way to push a datalayer event with the click of the form button?

Hi all! Is anyone else using SundaySky's new data connector for Marketo? They launched it in May, and I set it up for our SundaySky instance. I believe it's communicating, because I was able to map all our fields, but when I sent a test email with a test video with personalization in it, it doesn't work. (I was previously able to pass Marketo data to SundaySky using URL parameters, but we'd prefer to use the API. Marketo is already a vetted/approved system by our IT department, and this way SundaySky doesn't store a duplicate set of data or provide PII in URLs.) Hi, So I'm implementing a naming convention in my org. I've always used dashes to separate say: regions, audiences, dates, etc. Thing is I would like to be able to search by type of program --> Operational = OP.But whenever I insert OP-in the Marketing Activities' search bar it will show any asset that has "op" in it. (Including the OP- programs I want to search)Attaching some screenshots to show what I mean:In a member of program smart list it will show the right programs:Why is it then that the marketing activities search bar behaves differently compared to the filters's search bar?Thanks.   

Hi all,My team and I are currently exploring new ways to optimise syncing our Marketo programs to Salesforce campaigns - we'd like to be able to use the SFDC campaign object to show the results/ROI of each of our Marketo campaigns. Does anybody have any best practices on this? Are there any particular fields you have managed to sync successfully to help paint a better picture of the ROI of your work? Thank you!

Hi All,I have sent email from email program, at time for scheduling the qualified people to send email was 1403, and I approve and scheduled, after 2 hour i came back and checked the email dashboard, it was totally strange, Pic 1 with qualified people After sent: Email Dashboard snip from email perforamce report: I have checked the email is exactly the same which I sent.Now, the Quesstion are..what might be the issue?, where I can see if any pending (I dont think if any pending now) how can i investigate which are all report, smart list?if no email sent to around 800 people then how can i send them immediately and how to mitigate this issue infuture.I checked qualified people after all supresstion it was 1403, but Now I want to check 2 things why so many people excluded and what is the reason?and how can i got those email which are not delivered.Please do let me know if any futher info is neededthanks,   

Hey guys, we are currently trying to optimize our e-mail template and are therefore using the possibilities Marketo gives us in coding and designing the HTML.   When defining variables, we also use a dropdown to give users the choice of a predefined background color: As you can see, the values users can choose from are the Color codes in HEX format. My question is: Is it possible for us to replace these codes with "color names", so users don't have to choose from a cryptic code but can instead choose the color they like?  The code in our template inside the <head> Part currently looks like this:  <meta class="mktoList" id="TDM-Background" mktoName="Background Color" values="#005F7F, #91397F, #002A49" mktoModuleScope="true"> Thank you in advance and best regards!  

Hi there,who here loves a good mystery?We ran into a very mysterious case of campaign members syncing from MKTO to a SFDC campaign even though there is no program or campaign level sync happening.We are getting leads pushed over from Drift directly into a MKTO campaign as part of the integration. In MKTO we are sorting them into campaigns based on their Drift tags. There is no Add to SFDC campaign flow step in any of these campaigns. There is also no program level sync happening. However, under the lead activity it shows that they are being added to the SFDC campaign but there is nothing associated with it, like normally it would show you the campaign that's doing that but in our case its just blanc. We are also not seeing anything happening on the SFDC side that would cause this. There is no automation running on the SFDC side either that would automatically add people from what I've been told. And in Drift we are only pushing activities (like meeting booked) to SFDC but not to a spec

One thing I have noticed when creating a more complicated nurture in Marketo, you have to be creative to make things work the way you want them to and the great part about Marketo is that you have a whole arsenal of features available.This hack works with a lot of use cases, but the specific way I got to making it was when a client wanted a specific nurture for free trials for licenses from their website that would be sending on specific days of the trial.I've seen a lot of questions about variable cadence on the community. I was overjoyed seeing Marketo's announcement of this feature (screenshot above from summit slides) on the Summit this year. There is still some time remaining until that so I figured I will share this method. Hi Marketo,We have a web form that has been randomly submitting duplicate records in the activity log. We have had this web form for years but have only started seeing this issue in the last couple months or so. When a user submits a web form it shows 15 or sometimes 30 records in the activity log showing the exact same "Fill out form" and each one is recorded at the exact same minute. Its random. Sometimes we only see a couple in one day, and then no problems for a few days, and then one or more on another random day. When I test the form I dont see any issues in the activity log. The only thing that sticks out is that in the records that show duplicates, the first shows the "Fill out form" record with a reCAPTCHA score of "Trusted". And then all of the other duplicates show the score as "Failed" and the reCAPTCHA error message of "timeout-or-duplicate”. Is there some issue with Marketo and reCAPTCHA that would cause these duplicate records in the activity log? I also noticed this uns

Hi Community Friends! I'm setting up Dynamic Chat with Conversational Flows and will ONLY be using the latter to start with.  All of the product documentation seems to lead with the Dynamic Chat setup, and I can't find anything specific or related to the setup for Conversational Flows so wanted to ask these (probably silly/obvious) questions... 1. Do I have to initiate the sync to Marketo even if we're not using Dynamic Chat yet?2. Do I have to install the Chatbot Java Script from the Installation on our website to enable Conversational Flows to work or does that feature rely on the standard Munchkin code (already on our site)?  Thanks in advance for your help and I'm excited to bring this option to my team for experimentation/use (and hopefully sell the higher ups on using Dynamic Chat to replace Drift that was early last year).Michelle  😀 

Hello community - question regarding Block List. We need to exclude deactivated users from our audience lists for distribution.  In our case, a deactivated user is someone who no longer has access to our software - we're a SaaS company. I'm not referring to deactivated user within our company and using Marketo.  An initial thought, in an effort to not disrubt the current processes of the MA production team is to change a users Block List status to True when our newly created field "Is Deactivated" is triggered to True.  Are there implications that we should consider before doing this, that could impact the users domain? We're trying to avoid having a is deactivated list that the team has to add to all distributions going forward. Everything I'm finding within Marketo/Adobe regarding block or black lists centers around Spam. Documentation within Marketo/Adobe is limited to non-existing on what is a Blocklist (IMO).  And how is can, should and shouldn't

Hi, apologies for I'm about to sound really green and awkward probably.I'm really new to the Bulk Extract capabilities of Marketo, but am thinking that it might solve some issues I'm facing. I am looking to create an extract that will give me all email opens for a particular asset (email/program) for a particular time frame. I'm using the Bulk Extract method and crating a job viaPOST https://113-XEI-808.mktorest.com/bulk/v1/activities/export/create.json?access_token=XXXXXXXXXXThe body of the request is the following. Hi, I have recently removed about 100,000 contacts from my database all from old, imported list of people we do not market to. It has not reflected on my database pie chart but it my all-contacts number seemed to go down. Does this need time to reflect?

Hi,We have a Marketo landing page which on a link click triggers a conversational flow pop-up, which when visiting directly works fine, however, when we link to the page from our main website it appends their cookie tracking ID to the end of the URL and this appears to stop the anchor link from popping up the conversational flow. The only workaround I've been able to find so far is to put a ? before the # in the conversational flow anchor link, however this results in the page reloading then displays the pop-up which, whilst works, isn't the best experience. Has anyone else come across this issue and knows a way to have the conversational flow pop up as normal without reloading the page?

Our Marketo instance is linked to our internal data lake and a complete sync runs on a Saturday. Every other day a delta update is made (ie. any data fields that have been changed are updated.)My challenge is that member preferences are held outside of Marketo and are also part of this process. When data failures occur we run the risk of emailing unsubscribed members, resulting in a breach.What I am looking to do is to send a date "data last refreshed date" to Marketo and use this to pause campaigns via logic if the data is four days old (or more). We don't however want to send this as a lead field daily and update 2m records due to processing time.  Does such a system field exist and if so, is anyone aware of it being used for this purpose?
