Adobe Marketo Engage

Hi All, I'm downgrading our Triggers to overnight Batch runs when possible to improve the speed of our system. My question to everyone is, when looking at your Campaign Inspector, what is the best practice for the ideal number of Active Triggered Campaigns running daily at one time? Through experience and research, it seems like anything over 1000 will slow down the system, so what range below would be best practice? 150+250+300+500+Between 500-800Any help is appreciated! Cheers, Chris

Has anyone had any instances where an email has bounced, the status hasn't changed to delivered, but then has been marked as opened? I am intrigued to know how this may be the case. Thank you!

Hi all, Can someone please verify that I am using the correct formula for the advanced filter (see screenshot attached). I want the following:- they must have opened an email in the last 1000 days OR - clicked a link in an email in the last 1000 daysAND - they must NOT be apart of list 3 or 4 (blurred list names for obvious reasons) Right now, this is the formula I have: (1 or 2) and (3 and 4) I know when using the "NOT IN Member of List" filter i have to use the logic "and". I just want to be safe and make sure the formula suppresses the correct records.   Thanks in advance!

Hello, Can someone help me understand why we are not able to delete programs in Marketo.The case is there are certain default programs and email send programs that we need to delete. Some of the programs are getting deleted but others are not.Primarily, I have taken care of and deleted all the assets (smart lists, campaigns) to make sure these are not shared with other campaigns within the same workspace or other workspaces. Could there be any reason why I am not able to delete these programs? Appreciate your help. Thank you! 

Hi All, Is it possible to remove campaigns from the campaign queue? For context, I have turned off a few active triggered campaigns because I thought it would remove it from the queue, but it despite it being off, it has not lost its spot in line.  Any help appreciated. Thanks,Chris

@SanfordWhiteman Sandy, I've successfully used your directions from your Stop using direct download links (unless you want to lose tracking!) blog to record hits to an .ics file that's not in a Marketo email. But when I tested it with my colleagues, their lead info was not recorded. I set up the empty landing page as the redirector. But I had to modify the trigger, adding in the full address of the asset, make it work: Visits Web Page:Web Page contains:  info.companyname.com/calendar#info.companyname.com/rs/XXX-XXX-XXX/XXX/calendar-file.ics Why are we not able to capture lead info from known leads (the colleagues who tested are in the Marketo database)?

HI, We have a batch campaign that is triggering Slack alerts but I was told that Slack cannot process more than 150 requests at the same time and probably even less. We have a batch campaign that updates the webinar status for attendees of webinars but for some webinars we have over 300 attendees and it updates them all at the same time. I was wondering if anyone has a way to run these group of leads in batches of 30-50 people with a wait step of 30 seconds between one another.  I tried to use a random sample and static lists and a smart campaign that runs for every static list with a delay between them but it ran all of them at the same time.  Any idea? 

On our last MUG Q&A call, a Marketo vet asked about a webhook setup recommended by a certain vendor (who will remain anonymous to save embarrassment).   The vendor’s setup guide included this striking note:   For items like date, system tokens can be used since the API does not, in most cases, include a timestamp in its response. And an accompanying screenshot:   This was mind-blowing for everyone on the call. Despite being — I think it’s safe to say! — a Marketo webhooks guru, I’d never seen this attempted before. We extended the Q&A by a half hour just to test it out live.   Problem is it doesn’t actually work. The response mapping does do something to the person record, and if you’re not paying close attention (and/or are not an experienced Marketo user, as was probably the case at the vendor) you might think it works.   Setting up a test I set up a webhook hitting one of my test servers, which always returns this static JSON: { "car_count" : 1

Hello all,  As a best practice, we're trying to avoid putting lead tokens with PII (like first name, last name, email address and phone number) in an email link that goes to a Marketo landing page.  The landing page has a form with fields that we ideally want to pre-populate with these personal details so the customer doesn't have to fill in all their info themselves (since we already have it!).   Example URL:testpagewithform.com/?First={{lead.First Name}}&Last={{lead.Last Name}}&Email={{lead.Email Address}}&Phone={{lead.Phone Number}}....... So I *think* what I'm after is how to hash these fields so PII isn't included when someone clicks through the link, nor when they submit the form on the landing page and it goes back into Marketo.  Is that possible out-of-the-box in Marketo? Thanks!Megan  

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has any best practice advice on using the Priority Override for Trigger Campaigns? See here - https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/marketo/using/product-docs/core-marketo-concepts/smart-campaigns/using-smart-campaigns/priority-override-for-trigger-campaigns I want to speed up my system and in my research, came across this feature and naturally became curious on how to best use it.  My first instinct is to prioritize something like a list import trigger to ensure it actions fast as that is always a top priority. And given that in the Product Doc, Marketo is promoting using the feature for trigger campaigns that better align with your business.  That said, I'm wondering if the best practice would be to prioritize any key operational programs that push essential data and if they should ultimately win out? Any advice welcomed!Cheers,Chris

Hi, we are using a custom object in Marketo to capture some attendance fields of webinars, meaning attendance duration, QA, Poll and survey answers and we want to add this data to the campaign member on Salesforce. Anyone has any idea how can we achieve that? Thanks

Hi Team,   I am curious to know how you are utilizing the Bot Activity feature in Marketo. Many of my clients are using an Activity Duration of 0 seconds, while some are using 2 minutes.    Recently, in one user group, they suggested a 2-second duration. We migrated from Eloqua to Marketo.We were very active in using Eloqua's Custom Object.Every event that the customer participated in, the survey's answers are stored in units of each Custom Object.There is no limit to the quantity of this Custom Object in Eloqua.However, as far as I know, Marketo Engage can only create up to 10 Custom Objects, and we must use API to put values in the field of these Custom Objects.I’m wondering if it’s possible to implement something similar to the custom objects we used in Eloqua within Marketo Engage, or if there are any cases of such migrations.I would appreciate any help you can provide!

I understand that each Person's Company Object has a Company ID value.What standard is this company ID? Is it a Company Name or is it have a unique number?I wonder if there is a way to check the Company ID value by Person or to modify it myself.(This is the case if CRM or API is not linked.) And if there are People from the same Company(Company Name field value), I wonder if their company ID is the same.Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone,   I've recently synced Marketo with Salesforce and now I'd like to send all the contacts I have in my Marketo database to Salesforce, I've tried to find informations on the Internet but it seems that most topics talk about importing contact FROM Salesforce TO Marketo and not the other way. If anybody could give me some tips about it, it would help me a lot.   EDIT: I found how to send those contacts to SF but I have another problem : As i'm working with politician, they don't have a proper "Company" as Marketo and Salesforce understand it and when I tried syncing everything I got an error message telling me the "Company" field was missing. As they are related to a region, I was thinking about putting their region as their company but I do think its a good practice, any idea about it ?   Thanks
