Adobe Marketo Engage

I'm trying to figure out a way to create a Salesforce Event from a scheduled meeting from Conversational Forms/Dynamic Chat. The meeting is booked in/via Outlook, but does not create a Salesforce event. I know there might be a way to integrate Salesforce to Outlook and filter Meetings to only create events for Scheduled meetings from Conversational Forms, but I feel like there should be a more straightforward way of doing this. Does anyone have any ideas?

I am trying to code a section that works in Outlook as well as other browsers. I have attached the code below, I have run quite a few different VML, but it keeps breaking. I am trying to clean up our engagement programs and we have many that have a large amount of exhausted contacts in the stream. I have tried making a second stream for exhausted content but no one seems to be moving in that stream. What is the proper way to set this up?

When / how quickly are segmentations set for new records? When I drill into a lead record, I can see that it's segmentation is set, but don't see an activity indicating when the segment was set. If segmentations are set as the new record gets created (i.e. during or before the "New Person" activity), great. But if it's asynchronous and capable of having a backlog - and simply doesn't generate an activity - then I'm concerned about potential racing issues in the process I'm hoping to apply them to.

Hi there, We have some questions about the chatbot we are hosting at the Marketo Dynamic Chat. At a first glance, the object to open the chatbot and the object of clicking the link to the referred page, appear to have limited click attributes.Is it possible to adjust these objects so they can have values assigned like the url on the referred link?Currently, attributes from the first click to open the chatbot, and the second click is top open the link that it referred. Both have an identifiable elementId as ‘hb_chatbot-root’ but the second click does not have the url that the user will be led to from the chatbot.

Hello,We’re planning to implement email retargeting based on webpage visits, and I need some clarification on how it works with Marketo.I understand that by adding the Marketo munchkin code, we can track page visits (including those from anonymous ISPs). However, I’m not sure how we would know the email address of a visitor to trigger an email. Specifically, does the trigger only apply to leads already in our CRM, where we have their contact information associated with their IP address (e.g., "This person with this IP is a known lead and their email is X")?I apologize if this is a basic question—I'm not very technical!Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,   I want to create a nurture drip campaign for 12 emails, in that I need to set a cadence for every week and want to add a daily new contact in the same nurture drip.   If I add one contact today they get 1st email today and they will receive the next email next week, and if add 2nd contact tomorrow they will receive the next email next week. So, if I set a cadence for weekly then 1st contact gets the next mail on the as per 2nd contact cadence.   How to set a nurture drip for this?

We are having a sync issue. The customer fills out the web form and Marketo syncs with Salesforce. Marketo is updating the existing Contact in Salesforce, but also creating a new Lead. We do not want the new Lead created if the Contact exists in Salesforce. We only want the Contact updated. We only want a new Lead created if Marketo can not match an existing Contact. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 

We've all had these moments of dread. Your Salesforce admin pings you on Instant Message, and asks you... "Why is Marketo updating {insert random data value not associated at all with Marketing}?"  You go into Marketo, and upon doing some research you find that the record was indeed updated, but in the Marketo Activity Log you can clearly see that the record update was made by "sfdc" (Salesforce).   You, after conducting some research/troubleshooting, reply back to your Salesforce admin and tell them that Marketo is telling you that the record was updated by Salesforce. They, however, reply back to you and share a screenshot of the Salesforce record with the record history, and Salesforce is telling them that the record update was attributed to "Marketo Sync" (let's assume that this is the name of your sync profile).   Who's right?  Technically, you both are but you need some more information to help you have this conversation with your

I'm using the "update users API" to change the expiration date for a batch of users.   I am getting a response when I send the post, and it is actually changing the users. But instead of changing to the date I have set in the request, it's changing to "null/never." I've looked at the documentation surrounding the date format (although it's somewhat limited) and I even tried setting one user to the date I wanted, then copying the value from a "get user" response and pasting it into my body, but the same thing keeps happening.   I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, anyone have any ideas?   Here is my post body: {"action": "createOrUpdate","input": [ {"expiresAt": "2023-12-31T06:00:00.000t+0000" } ]}

We have a Program for new customer onboarding with a Flow of four emails with various wait steps in between. We've recently done a content overhaul on these emails and created a new Program and Flow to start sending these out. Currently, we have an API set up that runs daily to push data into Marketo. What is the best way to start having the new customer data pushed to the new Program, and stop going to the old program, while also letting those customers in the middle of the Flow of the old Program finish going through each email?

Hi there! I'm setting up an email campaign to test + learn what type of content our 4 personas are interested in. To do so, I'm planning to send my first email using dynamic content to slightly tweak the messaging to our 4 personas. Within that email, I'm linking to 3 pieces of content - "A", "B", "C"I'd like to set it up so that depending on which content a person clicks on, wait 5 days and they receive the next email with additional content pertaining to "A", "B," or "C". Where I'm getting stuck - if someone clicks on content "A" AND "B", what is the best way to set up the program? Should I have the next set of emails run on separate days so the person could still receive both if they clicked on both? Curious how other folks have done campaigns similar to this where you are asking your audience to select what content they are interested in, with the caveat that they may be interested in multiple pieces of content. This campaign consists of 6 emails and each email speaks to three different audience groups (short as AG), each AG having slightly different verbiages and a diff background image. Hi all,  Quick question here. I am currently in the process of adding mkto_UTM Campaign & mkto_UTM medium hidden fields to my forms, and up until now, I was using the URL parameter selection to pull from because we use URL parameters to track our email efforts and our paid search.    If I continue to set it up this way, and someone navigates to my landing page from a page with UTM parameters on it, but then doesn't convert and goes somewhere else on the site and converts from a different form, will the original UTM parameters carry through from the original source URL?    My initial thought is no, not unless I change my default values to pull from cookies. However, if I update it to pull from cookies, will the form then ignore the URL parameters from the direct page?    If I have to pick one or the other, the URL tracking is definitely more important, but ideally, I'd like to capture both!    Thanks in advance!  Felicia

I am currently pulling some templates from Pardot into Marketo and their design is causing issues with building out modules within Marketo. I am having trouble adding a mktoContainer to this design. We currently capture the UTMs in a cookie and if the visitor accepts cookies, we then capture the UTM information on our forms. Because we are seeing an increasing number of visitors not accepting cookies it is very hard for us to track how affective the advertising is and we don't always see the referring browser or search terms. Is anyone passing UTMs in the URL when the visitor changes page? thanks

Good afternoon,   Our Marketo instance is synced to Salesforce which has been configured to retrieve two Custom Salesforce objects, Product Preferences and Company Product. The latter is a parent of the former linked by a Product ID field.   The objects are available in Marketo as filters and triggers and can also be viewed and referenced in a Email Scripting Token to create dynamic content blocks for emails.   The objects however do not contain details relating to their specific website page, the URLs for which are available externally to Salesforce.   These URLs have been imported into a Marketo Custom Object (Product URLs) that is not directly related to a Person record in the set up of the Custom Object.   In terms of relationships, a person can have multiple Product Preferences and each of these Product Preferences, is linked to a record in the Company Product object and in turn, should also have a specific webpage URL available in the Marketo Custom Produ

Hi folks! I'm tackling a task of deleting over 14M records from one of our custom objects in Marketo, and the API is running a bit slow — only processing about 2,000 records per hour. My client has successfully connected Vibes with Marketo using the launchpoint integration. However, we have run into an issue, and support at Vibes and Marketo are both a little stumped.  BackgroundToday, a person fills out a membership application, which includes their mobile number. This is a custom process and the data flows directly into SFDC, which syncs to Marketo. Hello all,   we have a client that tells us that this scenario is real for them: Their customers might have employees that don't have specific - personal - email address, but all use one and the same: info@example.com. And they want multiple people from that company to register for an event with that same one email address. I told them that Marketo dedupes on email address and the subsequent event tool won't be able to process that data influx, but they insist that there must be a solution out there.   Does anyone happen to have a creative idea?   Thanks!Michael

Hey guys,  We started designing our E-Mail Master Template in Stripo a while ago and after exporting the HTML we added the "Marketo Syntax", so all the modules and elements inside the template can be picked and edited by our staff inside Marketo.  We ran into multiple issues while designing, but most of it could be handled effectively (thanks to the Marketo community here we could fix some of the issues where we didn't have a fitting solution!). Now where the Master Template is set up and most issues were supposedly fixed (especially Outlook Buttons!!), we are designing new mail campaigns inside Marketo. While doing so, we had another rendering issue that we found in Litmus. This time the culprit is not Outlook, but moreover Gmail on iOS Devices: The rendered screenshots is looking like the elements are way off and we can't find the reason for this. When testing on my own device (iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 17) i couldn't recreate this issue though – then I found o
