Marketo uses exact string comparison (case-sensitive and accent-sensitive) to determine if fields have changed. Overall, this is great: otherwise, we couldn’t use enrichment/normalization APIs!   One side effect is not-quite-real changes to fields like Email Address (which teeeeechnically is case-sensitive but must be treated as case-insensitive) are treated the same as major modifications:   Likewise for case changes to First Name or Last Name, or accent adjustments like “Rege-Jean” to “Regé-Jean.” To be clear, it’s not that these changes aren’t significant[1] and obviously they must be saved to the database. And logging individual changes is harmless anyway, resource-wise.    It’s unnecessary bulk changes of this sort that are a problem because they increase sync latency. We had a webinar, and in preparing to send out the follow-up (attended and no-show) emails, we noticed that the statuses hadn't changed from Registered to Attended or No-Show.On closer inspection, we noticed that the event status for the webinar program is still listed as "Waiting for Attendee List," rather than "Event Completed." I clicked "Refresh from Webinar" in the program Members section, but it hasn't updated.  

As many of you have read or have heard, Gmail and Yahoo has issued a variety of new sender requirements starting on February 1, 2024.  Many of the initial requirements revolve around ensuring messages are properly authenticated with SPF/DKIM/DMARC, as well as compliance with Spam Complaint rates.   One of these requirements include the support of One-Click List-Unsubscribe as defined in RFC 8058.  This requirement was pushed out to June 2024 for both Gmail and Yahoo.  What this means is, starting in June 2024, all Bulk senders are required to support One-Click List-Unsubscribe which includes having the presence of the following in their marketing messages:   List-Unsubscribe-Post: List-Unsubscribe=One-Click List-Unsubscribe: <URL Unsubscribe>, [optional <mailto:>] The URL unsubscribe in the List-Unsubscribe: Must not direct a customer to a preference page Support receiving a HTTP POST response back from the receiver Process the HTTP POST respons

Hello, While looking through the Web Page Activity report for anonymous website visits, there are two areas of incomplete information. The Page Views tab shows how many pages a lead visited but the link is missing that would reveal the specific pages visited. Additionally, the Entry Page data is partial only showing up for some visitors. How can this missing data be included in the report?  Thank you.

We want to start issuing guarantees for our products via a more automated process. The data will be collected via a non-Marketo form on our website. In a lot of cases a copy of the guarantee email will need to be sent to a third-party who are unlikely to already have a record. I know I can get the data into Marketo via a custom object, but how do I then send the email to that third-party email address. Thanks

Hi All, Quick question: We have created a custom person field in marketo called "App code". Then we have imported a datalist with the App code values for all the registrants for a Tradeshow.The task at hand: This app code value should auto populate based on which registrant from the imported list is receiving the email. Each registrant has a unique app code value. Apprently the registrants use this app code as an invite code to log into a different application. In the HTML email: I am using {{lead.App Code:default=TBD}}. I sent a sample proof from marketo to one of the registrants that was imported with the app code info previously. Ideally the appropriate app code should have populated for her once she recieved the sample proof in her outlook inbox, but this is not happening. She is seeing the default value 'TBD' instead. Any suggestions/ideas as to why this is not working? Thank in advanceNishanth

The sheer audacity of 3rd-party form trackers (conversion pixels, enrichment services, attribution libraries) is amazing. “Don’t worry about telling IT,” they’ll say. “It has zero side effects, just drop it onto every landing page.”   Now if their code is correctly detecting and using the Marketo Forms JS API, that’d be reassuring. But in reality, most use a Marketo-ignorant — and for that matter, Marketo-competitor-ignorant — approach. They look for <form> elements in the page and at least try, to varying degrees, to listen for native DOM events (focus, change, submit) without disrupting the final outcome.   This approach can easily fail. Hello Community, Has anyone else experienced issues with emails randomly being deactivated within engagement programs?I’ve encountered several instances where I notice an email is not deploying as expected, only to find that it’s been deactivated within the stream. Can this number always be bigger that the number of licenses allowed? Hi,I'm wondering if anyone can help with an issue I'm having with UTM tracking on my emails being sent from Marketo in smart campaigns. I am syncing emails from Knak into Marketo.  I can see in the email template that the UTMs are pulling through from Knak correctly, and in the preview when I hover over images etc I can see the UTMs populating correctly. However, when I send a test email (either from the template or from a live test campaign), the UTMs on some links aren't pulling through, but oddly are working for others. I noticed that the UTMs are visible in the URL of links going to one particular webpage, but for all others the UTMs are being replaced with 'email.perenews....'.  I believe this is Marketo's own function overriding my UTM tracking, however it doesn't make sense why that's only happening on some links and not all.  Is anyone able to assist in understanding why this is happening, and how to fix it?

I was curious if anyone has a good solution for this issue. We are about to send out price change emails for various products. We want to display that new price in an email based on their ID, NOT their email address, as some emails may have multiple products. I am trying to solution storing that data and using a custom token to display that price in the email sent to that person via their ID (either Salesforce ID or another ID already stored in Marketo) What are the best solutions for this?
