Adobe Marketo Engage

Utilizing the Marketo API - I have been attempting to upload program members via the bulk method. This seems to fail 30% of the time with not all members uploading to a specific program (randomly only 10/4000 people will upload). This made me think that I should probably add in logic to make sure the task job has a status of "Completed" before proceeding to the next upload. I created a folder for a campaign and built out the assets etc... but every time I log in to Marketo I first see a duplicate of the folder and I'm not able to expand or see the assets in either: When I refresh the page, I then see a single folder and can expand it as normal It doesn't matter how many times I log out and in, close the browser, restart my computer etc... it always appears this way when I first log in to Marketo and it's been doing this ever since I first created the campaign a month ago.    It's a minor annoyance but does anyone know what causes this and how I can fix it?

Hi all,   According to this post phone number field input values should be able to contain characters like "-" or "+". https://nation.marketo.com/t5/knowledgebase/marketo-field-limits-by-field-type/ta-p/299978 However, with one customer I am now seeing invalid field notifications if these characters are used. There are no input masks in place, so it seems a generic change in field type settings. This is happening since a few days. Is anyone else seeing this change?   Thanks!

I'm currently attempting to remove an old segmentation, and am going through all the old emails that utilized that segmentation to unapprove them.  While I was going through the emails, I came across an email that was approved and I was unable to unapprove the email.   The email in question is part of an aborted program.  That aborted program also had an A/B test (not sure if this is relevant). I am unable to unapprove the email because it's currently "in-use" by the aborted program, and I can't remove the A/B test, the email from the program, or delete the program.   How do I go about unapproving/removing assets from aborted programs like this?

Hello- We have added a new field in Salesforce Campaign object by the name of 'Rating'. I want to understand if it is even possible to sync this field to Marketo so that we can use them in Smart campaigns in Marketo as filters? If yes, How can we do that?   I tried looking at the Admin > Data Management > Salesforce Object Sync schema but it did not show me Campaign as a synced object. But, when I look at Admin > Integrations > Salesforce > Edit Sync Options, the 'Enable Salesforce Campaign Sync' check box is checked.   Would really appreciate all the help I can get navigating this as I am pretty new to Marketo.

Hi - I am automating my lead source workflows based on program status changes and UTMs.    For event registrations, I'd like the workflows to first populate the lead source based on the UTM source that drove the registration. If there is no UTM, I'd like to use the event channel to populate the lead source.    How can this best be achieved, so the lead source from the UTM isn't overwritten when the program status change to registered runs (this will update lead source to the event type)?   Note - we have an original lead source field and current lead source field. 

For MktoForms2, there is an .onSuccess(callback)but there doesn't seem to be a .onFailure(callback)I've read through the api many times, I can't seem to figure out a way to find out if the form submit has failed.Is there a way to do this? How do other people ensure they are aware when a form submission fails?Thanks

I have read through the community and haven't found a solution to my problem so I'm hoping someone can help.   I need to reformat a date token so it displays like this in the email: MM DD, YYYY   Here is the token: {{company.Expire Date (mkto)}}   I have tried a few solutions I found in the community but none of them displayed properly for me. I also am not seeing the field 'company.Expire Date (mkto)' pop up in the "tree" so I can't check it off/select it.    I was wondering if I am having trouble because this is a SFDC custom field?   If anyone can help, please chime in. Also, if I need to provide any additional information, I'm happy to!  

I want to integrate the Microsoft Dynamic CRM with Marketo for new business vertical however the current Marketo account is already sync with Salesforce CRM. is there any workaround to sync two CRM with Marketo account i.e. via custom API method? have anyone done this before and what are the key points to be consider before starting this custom integration between Microsoft Dynamic CRM and Marketo

I am trying to add a standard Campaign field, Campaign Type, as an Add Constraint to either an SFDC Trigger, ex "Added to SFDC Campaign" or an SFDC filter, ex. "Member of SFDC Campaign", but I don't know what makes a Campaign field eligible to be a constraint. Ultimately, I would like to filter out Campaigns of a specific Campaign Type (Standard SFDC Campaign object field) Please advise.  Thanks so much.

Hi,  I would like to get best practice on changing the timing on an engagement program. If I have 3 pieces of content (emails) in stream 1, where the standard timing is restricted to weekly of monthly, how do I change the cadence to the following in stream 1 which requires the ability to define daily?  STREAM 1:  Email 1 - send on Monday   - if send 1 opens, send email 4-in stream 2  / if unopened send email 2Email 2 - send of Wednesday -  if send 2 opens, send email 4-in stream 2  / if unopened send email 3 Email 3 - send on Friday   if send 3 opens, send email 4-in stream 2  / if unopened consider EXHAUSTED.    STREAM 2:  Email 4    Thank you  AJA    

Hi,   We have observed an issue and this is mainly focused on the data sync between Marketo and SFDC. T To share the insights - "if a lead exists in Marketo and syncs over to SFDC, and then SFDC converts the lead to a Contact. Currently, there is a duplicate record gets created in Marketo with the same email address from the SFDC end."   1. Lead A gets created in Marketo  2. Lead A syncs over to SFDC 3. SFDC -> Lead gets converted to a Contact 4. Lead B gets created in Marketo with same email address of Lead A   Can someone help me to understand the working of this or how we can resolve this issue?

I am trying to create a "Set Success" campaign for an email that I did an A/B test on. When I try to use the filter, "Opened Email," the only option it gives me is "EMAIL NAME. Subject Line Test."    Since the email went out this morning, do I need to give it more time for the entire email (not the subject line test) to be an option in the "Opened Email" filter?   Thanks! 

I know there are a bunch of built in company and person tokens from viewing this page but I can't figure out where the data for those tokens would be stored in Marketo. Also, it says "Custom person fields also work if you use their display name" so trying to understand how I would create a custom field name. I don't want to use "my tokens". I would prefer the information to be populated on the backend rather than in the my tokens section for every email.    Thanks for your help in advance!!

Does anyone know how to set an email engagement program stream so when a new lead is added to the engagement program, they first wait 2 days, then they are added to the engagement stream and receive the first email, then once a week from that day and so on until the stream is exhausted. For example, John D is added to the engagement program, the flow step waits 2 days, then the next step is to add them to the engagement stream 1, then they receive the first email say on Wednesday, then continue to receive 1 email a week every Wednesday for 3 more weeks as there are 4 emails in the stream.    Any thoughts, suggestions, hacks are greatly appreciated. We've been experiencing a salesforce sync issue for a while and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions to fix it.  We run a lot of automation based on the contact lead status field in SF.  We're seeing an issue where marketo will have the right status on the lead, but when the lead is converted in SF, marketo will pull the converted lead status (which is "Converted") into marketo as the new person status.     This Converted status will then push to the SF contact.  Is there any way to prevent marketo from syncing a converted lead status?  Any advice would be appreciated.  

Greetings everyone! I have a fresh new Marketo record that came in via web form, and they are being blocked from SalesForce. Upon checking the error message in the activity log, I see that SalesForce is returning the following error:  {DUPLICATES_DETECTED: You're trying to create a duplicate record we suggest you select an existing record.} Upon searching in SFDC, I found a Contact that clearly pre-dates the Marketo record, that seems to have never synced over to Marketo. I've seen this a handful of times with our systems, as we have a number of records in SFDC that existed before we integrated our Marketo instance who have stubbornly refused to sync over to Marketo's database. My question is, do I have a way to force the two systems to make the connection between the Marketo record and the existing Contact in SFDC? To my knowledge, there are no fields in the SFDC Contact that would be "hiding" it from Marketo's sync user, so I'm a bit at a loss as to why they haven't synced. Appr

I've set up an automated Birthday Email campaign following the instructions for two smart campaigns provided by the Sending a Birthday Message post. Both smart campaigns are set so each person can only run through the campaigns once every 364 days. However, on the person's birthday, the birthday email is sent to each person multiple times until the communication limit is reached. Why is this email being sent multiple times?   Batch Campaign Notes: 1/1/1900 is sometimes used as a default date if DOB is empty. The countries are limited to only North & South America for time zone reasons.    Trigger Campaign (inactive until I resolve the issue)
