I posted yesterday about using VTL to find the first Monday of the next month. A working solution was provided by @sanfordwhiteman in Velocitip: Find the first 𝑵-day of next month - Marketing Nation (marketo.com)   I learned I also need to go one step further -- Part 2 of our required solution is to get the date prior to the first N-day of the next month. For example, we need to find the day before the first Monday of the following month, which could be Sunday the 31st in the current month. Is there a similar solution we can implement here?

I am looking for help/information if it is possible to send data from email, landing page, link, etc performance to our AWS data lake. We have access to the leads, activities and campaigns but are looking for the analytic data in the Marketo Analytic UI. All of the documentation mentions the three (leads, activities and campaigns) and that's it. Even the REST requests do not mention anything about emails sent, number of clicks, opens, etc. The goal is to use this analytical data in Tableau. Thanks.

Hi all I recently added a honeypot to our newsletter emails in order to filter out any false clicks that may have been from bots... Our true results, after removing the honeypot clicks, are significantly lower, about 90% lower if not more. It's been a jarring experience, has anyone gone through anything similar? It even makes me question if the industry benchmarks we see for standard open rates, click rates, etc. are trustworthy when bot and/or spam filter clicks are taken into account

Hello all!   We're looking at how to "track" direct mailers within Marketo in the sense of being able to add "Leads" into Marketo and then track if any results occur from the Leads.   Initial thoughts are to do something like: 1. Load mailing list into Marketo channel for direct mail 2. Attribute the "sent mailer" on date sent out3. Use a QR Code with UTMs or other "tie-in" on the mailer to direct back to our website and applications. . . This is the step I am stuck on - found @sanfordwhiteman's blog post on the Associator Token (Generating Munchkin Associator Tokens in SFDC/Apex or FlowBoost/JS — TEKNKL :: Blog) but it seems that this is depreciated and also might not apply in content of a QR Code or basic UTM.Any recommendations on how to get a flow like "Lead in Marketo --> Mailer --> QR Code/UTM --> Non-Marketo LP" and tie the web page visits in Marketo?

Hi all, I am assigning custom-generated link urls to a custom field I created on Marketo records called Survey Link. Each person I am including will have a unique link associated with their record. I was then looking to use this field as a token {{Lead.Survey Link}} in an email as a button link. When I put the token {{Lead.Survey Link}} in the URL area on the button or linked text, it is not loading.   I saw a previous post for My Tokens, but the token would be a Lead Token, because the links are unique to each person and could be in the thousands.    Any idea why the link is not working? I did remove https:// and place it outside to the token {{

Hello,We will be migrating all Hubspot data from Salesforce/Hubspot of a company we just acquired to our own Salesforce/Marketo. Some of the data, customers for instance, will probably flow into Salesforce then to Marketo, while leads may move directly from Hubspot to Marketo. Here's the question: when the data gets imported, Marketo will assign a "Created" date stamp. However, if the lead was created in their Hubspot instance on a previous date, it will already have a Created date. Will Marketo allow us to override the newly stamped Created date with the original Created date from the Hubspot instance? If not, then can we update that field with a Data Value Change? Or is the Created date hard coded in any way? Can we include Created date in an import as a last resort? Or do we have to accept the Created date stamp? There is also a "Created At" field as well as a "Person was Created". We just tried to do a Data Value Change and it looks like Marketo allows to update Created A

Hi, Within my email campaign, I usually use the 'email address is' smart list and copy the emails in that way. However, this time I would like to personalise it using the first name token in the email.   Is it possible to personalise the email with a first name without uploading the email list/first names as 'members' of the campaign. I don't want to upload a list to the campaign as it will automatically add the email contacts to my welcome email series, because of the trigger 'new contact'.   Thanks,

I'm trying to sync a custom object in Salesforce to Marketo that has a custom junction/MtM object in between it and the Contact but the object isn't available in the list of objects to sync. The entity relationship looks like this: Contact < MtM__c > Membership__c. This can be read as as "a Contact can be associated to many Memberships and a Membership can be associated to many Contacts. Is this type of relationship supported in the Salesforce Custom Object sync?I see the MtM object is available for syncing, but I would also expect to see the Membership object under that MtM object if supported. I believe permissions are configured correctly. Marketo has the disclaimer "Marketo only supports custom entities that are linked to standard entities one or two levels deep. " That statement isn't clear if a custom entity linked to another custom entity is supported.Any thoughts? Do I have to use the non-Salesforce custom object to pull in this relationship?Thanks!Ben Neal

Hi, I could need some help with the following. Our Marketo instance is linked to Microsoft Dynamics CRM.  Now we have more than 18000 contacts coming from CRM, but without the company (account) data. The company details page is empty. However in CRM the contact is linked correctly to the account (company). Before, most of these CRM accounts had the SyncToMkto set to FALSE. This has been updated for all to TRUE. Yet this change did not trigger the sync of the company data to Marketo again. Is there a way that I force the account data to sync again? With that I mean automatically for all 18000 contacts that are missing the company data. A manual change of the linked account on the contact level in MSD triggers the sync back to Marketo, but seen the big number of contacts, this needs to be in bulk.

Hello! We are trying to set up a lead lifecycle within Marketo. On a high level, the leads that are not MQL'd will remain in a recycle bucket and owned by the Marketing team. What is the best practice in terms of who these leads should be assigned to in Marketo & in Salesforce? Thanks

Hi Community,We are launching a big marketing initiative in two days (yes two days!) and I have been testing using embedded smart campaigns in an Engagement program like crazy.    A few questions have arisen:    With emails embedded in the Engagement program, is it possible to disable communication limits? For example, with a smart campaign I can uncheck “Block non-operational emails”. Is this possible with an Engagement program? In testing I noticed that anyone who I had previously been sent an email and had reached our communication limits was skipped.         Related to my question above, it appears that even a cast with a wait step campaign embedded will skip someone who’s exceeded their communication limits for the week. Is this accurate?    This would potentially be an issue because our goal is to try and send as close to equal a number of emails per Engagement stream as possible every 30 days and frequen

I have to make a decision about whether to migrate away from Marketo to Hubspot in the next week or two.   I've invested a lot into Marketo over the last 9 years. I have been a VAR for Marketo, and as such implemented and supported it with countless companies. I've always believed that it was the best option out there. I've put my neck on the line many times by recommending Marketo over its competitors. Greetings, We have an email set to go out to our members who received incorrect information over the weekend. We have a newly created "Has Rewards Checking Last Month Final" CO that was created in Marketo with the correct data sources and information. However, when we apply the tokens accordingly, and preview a member who qualified. None of the data is displaying correctly.I will use the custom token rate as an example. I hope this isn't a stupid question. I have a default campaign running a smart campaign. I need to pause it temporarily while I make some changes. How do I do this? The contacts running through are currently in a wait step so I'm hopeful this won't affect anything too badly. 

I'm trying to just send over a couple of fields' data (e.g. Email address, last name, first name, LeadID, Consent source) without a Smart List to Qualtrics via the API integration at LaunchPoint, not sure how exactly to transfer it over. Can somebody shed some lights? : )

When using webhook connections with Marketo, you will often come across an API connection with a two-step process. The first connection needs to send the authentication information, after which you get back an access token, and then that token needs to be provided in the second (and any other subsequent) queries to provide the necessary authentication. Both the Marketo and SFDC REST APIs follow this model. Marketo's Webhook functionality, though, is only a one-step process, so it's necessary to employ separate Webhook configurations to get this to work.   The first step is to create a new custom field on the Person object to hold the access token value. This field will hold the temporary, generated access token value between webhook connections.   Next step is to create a Webhook just to do the initial authentication step. It will save the returned token value in the Access Token field. Here is an example that connects to SFDC:   The last step is to create the Webhook
