Junit testing custom component with HTL and Json

Hi,

We are using AEM Sites 6.5 on the mac. Trying to build a Junit test to validate a custom component is working.

The samples I see are against a model with interface and impl, creating a page.

Are there samples against a plain model class with Json data? (No interface)
