current state is EDDL (client-side data layer). In case if we're to move to server-side data collection, would client-side data layer be useless? if not, how and in what ways it serves?

Hi @abhijithra1 -

The client-side data-layer will still be an essential component with server-side logic/tracking.
The purpose of client-side data-layer is to expose application side entities for integration.

if you're referring to Adobe Launch Server-Side setup, the client-datalayer will be leveraged to pass attributes as per mapping in "interact" AEP WebSDK hits that will be used in Launch Server-Side to perform necessary actions.

If you're referring to Adobe Analytics server-side tagging, then you don't have direct dependency on client-side datalayer, as the analytics call will be initiated server-side itself.

hi @abhinavpuri

Thanks. Could you also help elaborate between 'Launch server-side' & 'Analytics server-side' per your mention. With Launch, won't calls be dispatched from the server-side?
