Demdex.js 404 error

We are trying to implement Audience manager but when we try to use the following script we get a 404:

https://a248.e.akamai.net/demdex.download.akamai.com/clientId/demdex.js

http://cdn.demdex.net/clientId/demdex.js

However, if we use the following:

https://clientId.demdex.net/demdex.js

We are able to get the script to work, how come the CDN links do not work correctly?  Do we have an old script applied?

Thanks

Hi Greg,

From my this question : DIL based or SSF, I wanted to check if you have one tool for AA in DTM and have Audience Management code in AA tool for AAM (Server Side Forwarding) Or do you have separate tool for AAM in DTM ?

Are you using the embed code from DTM in head tag of your site ? Could you try with the staging DTM code on a test page and see if you are able to see calls to demdex ?

If you still are facing issues with staging embed code as well, could you share the web site URL and DTM property ID via DM ?

Thanks,

Hi there,

Could you provide some more details on how are you implementing AAM:

Are you getting that error for a website or a mobile app ?

Is it a DIL based implementation or SSF ?

Do you have Adobe Analytics as well ? If yes, do you want to share AA data to AAM ?

Are you using any tag manager or DTM to implement  AAM ?

Do you also want to implement ID Sync ?

Thanks,

Answers inline, thanks for the help!

Are you getting that error for a website or a mobile app ?

- We are getting the error on our website, when adding the following:

<!-- Adobe Audience Manager Tag Insertion Manager -->

<script type="text/javascript">

var dexBaseURL=(("https:"==document.location.protocol) ?

"https://a248.e.akamai.net/demdex.download.akamai.com/clientID/" :

"http://cdn.demdex.net/clientID/");

document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='"+ dexBaseURL +

"demdex.js' type='text/javascript' %3E%3C/script%3E"));

</script>

<!-- End Adobe Audience Manager Tag Insertion Manager -->

Is it a DIL based implementation or SSF?

I'm not sure what you mean by SSF

Do you have Adobe Analytics as well ? If yes, do you want to share AA data to AAM ?

Yea we have adobe analytics implemented already and we would like to share AA data with AAM

Are you using any tag manager or DTM to implement AAM ?

Yes we are using adobe DTM

Do you also want to implement ID Sync ?

Not at this time

We are using DIL based

Are you using the embed code from DTM in head tag of your site ?

Yes

Could you try with the staging DTM code on a test page and see if you are able to see calls to demdex ?

We are seeing calls to demdex but only because we are using the http://clientID.demdex.net/demdex.js JS file instead of the CDN location

Greg,

If AAM is implemented using AAM tool in DTM, then there is nothing else needed. Just make sure you have entered your partner id in the partner id field (subdomain e.g. clientid). If you have added some custom DIL as well, then partner id should be your the partner subdomain: "clientid" and do not use clientid.demdex.net/demdex.js anywhere in the custom code.

Also, if possible please share your website URL or the DTM property ID or name in DM.

If this urgent, then please raise a support ticket with client care.

Thanks,

Greg,

I have checked the DTM property and the site domain provided by you.

I could not see AAM implemented on the site, I believe you might have removed the tool or DIL code.

I have sent you a DM, could you check and respond.

Thanks,

Varun
