Report Prompts needed at the dashboard level

Currently, report prompts are only available at the individual report level. There are many times when team members have wanted to change the filtering/report prompts across all the reports in the dashboard. Adding this feature would be huge. Otherwise, team members are stuck updating the report prompt for each individual report within the dashboard and it is too time consuming to do so.

I think I heard @Matt Mitchell talk about this on the last "New Reporting" Canvas roadmap call. I'm pretty sure it's aready on the roadmap. Maybe someone from Adobe can confirm. @jon_chen

@RandyRoberts is correct. We did mention this as an upcoming enhancement for the Canvas Dashboards capability.  We have still not identified when this work will start, but we will keep you posted through upcoming Roadmap and Release webinars.

This would be an amazing addition! it would make dashboards so much more functional and lessen the number of clicks/ steps users have to take to get the data they want to see from a group of reports. This would especially be a huge win for our executive dashboards, as they are often users who don't use Workfront daily and want to be able to get the information they need as quickly and as simply as possible.

Hi Matt, the link you sent just shows how to do report prompts. What I'm requesting that get's built is is the ability to do prompts at the dashboard level. I may be missing something, but as far as I can see this is only available at the report level for now.

Hi @randyb1 Sorry I should have been clearer. If you scan down the page, it shows a tickbox that enables the prompt to carry through to dashboards. Search for the word dashboard and you’ll find it eventually or go to the prompt area of a report and just below that you’ll see the option. It worked great for me earlier today! Good luck.

Hi @MattWindsor,

Thanks for the screen shot: that feature to show a single report’s prompt when it is shown on a dashboard (so users can first choose, then run) has actually been around for many years.

To clarify, this expanded idea is to allow dashboards with multiple reports to have a common dashboard level prompt that will then apply across each report…as our UberFilter solution currently provides (and has since 2017, in fact).

Regards,

Doug
