Make Journal Entry Reports Exportable

The new Journal Entry report type is fantastic. I've used it for creating dashboards which record commonly referred-to and updated custom form fields. I've also created dashboards for admin/group leads to do some sleuthing when data was changed in order to increase transparency.

That said, the main problem is that you can't export the thing. I understand that, if you don't filter it out, you'll get an unreasonable list of results. That said, if used in a layout template on the Project/Task/Issue pages, the need to export is self-evident.

Ideally, we should have the ability to either turn exporting ON or OFF, depending upon the type of report and where it's used.

The journal entry report is great, but we use it to capture key info for metrics that then needs to get cut & analyzed by the date the journal entry was made & by who updated the field. Not being able to export this type of report is a huge limitation for us. The functionality, from a user perspective, should be the same as any other report type. I agree with John, that if Workfront feels the need then they can include the ability to turn exporting ON or OFF. But at a minimum all reports should be exportable.

I agree, I recently ran into the need to export the journal entry report. I needed to compare the date on the journal entry with the corresponding task due date - number of days between those dates was accomplished with text mode. But then I needed to export the report and do further calculations to determine the percentage of times the journal entry happened after the task due date (late).
