Huge Pdf Size

I've got a Pdf form without Reader Extension permissions, it has 175Kb.

When I pass it by the Reader Extensions, the Pdf size has grown a lot, it has 920Kb now. Any idea?

Thanks

The only techniques I use to knock down the file size are:

SAVE AS

overwriting the original file with the SAVE AS will reduce.

UNEMBED FONTS

Go to ADVANCED, PDF OPTIMIZER and Select AUDIT SPACE USAGE.

Unembed any fonts you see. It usually doesn't affect the form much.

NARROW COMPATIBILITY

Go to FILE, REDUCE FILE SIZE and raise the compatibility layer to

Adobe 6.0. Anyone with an earlier version reader should just

upgrade.

None of these should have been affected by the reader extensions, but I don't see any other options.

Samuel,

Do you have the latest upgrade of Reader Extensions Server? We found that version 7.0.2 did a better job in this than version 7.0

It seems there is always an increase in size when the file is Reader Extended and another one when it is saved for the first time. Also, you will probably notice some file decrease after a second save, and then file size stabilizes.

Client side, this is partially addressed in Reader 7.0.5 and 7.0.7 updates, so make sure you have the latest update installed.

Try also avoid using non standard fonts in form fields. If the font needs to get embedded, it will significally increase the file size.
