Hi All,

In OOTB 5.6.1 instance,in the below location we have

\author\crx-quickstart\repository\workspaces

-crx.default

The documentation "http://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/crx/2-3/administering/persistence_managers.html" mentions

"As an implemention of the JCR standard, CRX includes support for multiple workspaces, essentially multiple content trees (each with its own root node) within the same repository"

I am not able to understand

- What exactly is workspace here.
- When should we go for multiple workspaces

Any thoughts on this will be helpful.

Hi,

for the details of the workspace concept in JCR please see the JCR 2 specification, see [1]. And in terms of AEM 5.6.1, you shouldn't use multiple workspaces, as AEM 5.6.1 does not support it (anymore).

Workspaces are a feature of the JCR 2.0 specification, which is not used in AEM, but AEM only uses a single workspace called "crx.default".

kind regards,
Jörg
