AEM Assets HTTP API not returning asset metadata on publisher

Hello All,

I'm using AEM Assets HTTP API to make ajax calls from my component and fetch asset title and hyperlink. So far, it was working like charm. But now I have a requirement to pull some metadata of asset on page. To my surprise, what I noticed that the Assets api is returning asset metadata in author instance but not in publisher instance. On further investigation, I found the metadata is returned in publisher only when I'm logged in. Obviously I don't expect my users to login in publisher.

Unfortunately I can't find a work around here and I think I have to use some other approach although I earnestly want to stick with assets api.

Any documentation, possible workaround will be greatly appreciated.
