Adobe Experience Manager Assets

HI I just notice that our AEM asset folder in 6.1 do not have a timeline history showing.  So how are we supposed to know if this folder was un-published or deleted.  this isnt expected behavior is it? it says on timeline, "The timeline is not available for the selected item type".
