Trending Workfront data stats over time (such as monitoring the number of Issues in a Queue, as you're looking for) is an interesting topic, with many potential approaches. Here are a few I'm aware of:
Manually monitor and archive the stats (e.g. in Excel); crude but effective
Same concept, but recording them in custom data (e.g. on a weekly Task or Issue on a special Project) within Workfront: still crude but effective, but at least you're using Workfront to then report and review it
Same concept, but (if possible) semi-automating them using smarter custom forms that gather the stats you need "at the time" for you, by applying the principals I described in my Weekly Status Reporting blog post
Consider using our UberCalc solution to fully automate the same concepts, from which you can then write your own Workfront reports
If you'd prefer something more tailored (e.g. spark lines, trending arrows, etc.), consider our Magic Reports solution to present the information in the precise format you require
At the extreme, for the Data Warehouse enthusiasts, consider our Workfront Snapshot solution to periodically export all of your most useful Workfront information (including Custom) to a database you can download, inspect, report on, and/or load (e.g. into SQL Server or Oracle) for enterprise level analysis (e.g. OLAP, Tableau, etc.)
