Does anyone know if there is a way/setting to hide comments/updates from certain users? Jazmin Allen-Collins Analog Devices, Inc.

That starts to get squirrely. The only way I know of would be to prevent them from seeing the entire Task/Issue. I don't know of a way to control the comments panel. The other way might be to create a custom field that you can control the access. For example, if you don't want users to see a Technically written Resolution on something. But we just went the other way and told our staff to be mindful of what they write in the comments and assume everyone can see them. Again we attempt to have full transparency. Is there a specific problem you're trying to address? We have a custom field set up, but apparently the whole team using it forgot it was there and are now complaining about having to go into the custom form (even from the updates section) every time they want to access a comment. Which I understand. It's less of a mindfulness thing and more that they have comments they leave for themselves, but, since primary contacts get notifications on everything, they see the comments and sometimes think they're meant for them. It will be a global setting though for those types of users so that they don't see any comments that they're not specifically tagged in. Go to Setup, Access Level, select the access you want to change, under Additional Restrictions: View only updates in which they have been included in the conversation Polly Co

Yeah we turned off that notification in the Global settings as Polly mentioned to avoid exactly what you're seeing. Your team would just have to remember to tag the Primary Contact when they DO want to give them an update. On the downside I'm getting a lot of people that aren't tagging people and the communication goes into the vapor. So I've now sent an organization wide email explaining how the comments work for about the 5th time.
