Project Tracking - WF Linking to Excel? Field for manual notes entry?

I want to ask the group about Project Tracking - Right now my counterpart and I are splitting roughly 124 retail marketing projects - all with relatively individual timelines. Some are created internally, some are created externally. I have looked into dashboards before and milestone reports, but our information changes by the minute and it has become "easier" for us to keep a shared excel document with our portfolios, a notes section, and all due dates. Since this is a shared doc... a formula has to be entered to activate the project hyperlink. This is also how our manager knows what is happening at the end of the week when she reviews our projects. This is extremely manual and this is taking up a huge chunk of my day. Can anything auto-link to workfront to change dates as I change them adjust timing? one of the limitations I had with a dashboard was that it was not exportable to Excel and we could not add our personal notes or reminders directly to that screen. Does anyone have any suggestions for ways to make this an easier process? Please let me know if I need to explain anything in further detail. Thank you in advance!!!

Hi Carly, That is quite a spreadsheet! Although I'd need more details about what's actually being illustrated in your screenshot, from what you've described (including having tried the out of the box features), I'd suggest going one of two ways to improve efficiency. If you "know" that this spreadsheet is the fastest way to keep up with your business changes, then keep it as the source, but add another tab to it in to our Excel Updater format, and whenever it changes, upload the spreadsheet to synchronize the data changes (e.g. dates and comments) into Workfront. Alternatively, if you agree that it would be best to enter the data directly into Workfront, but "know" that this report is then the best way to communicate it (including the links), we could develop a Magic Report to your specification, which would then be always current, either on an executive dashboard or as a pdf. Regards, Doug

Doug! Thank you so much for your response. Can we chat on this at some point offline? This might eliminate a lot of back and forth? Carly
