Plan Version control

We are new to Workfront and just wondered if it is possible to version control a plan in workfront so that a previous version can be re-instated. If so how do you do this ? Philomena D'Sa Engie

Unfortunately, no. The only recovery options I know of are; the new recycle bin to recover recently deleted tasks/issues/projects. The other possibility is looking in your Preview environment. However, that's refreshed each weekend (so it's limited) and even then, you'd have to export the tasks/issues from the Preview, and import them into your Prod environment (or copy and paste some stuff). If you're playing around with some scenarios or something, you can Copy a Project and then play in the copied one. Just be sure to set your Status to Planning before Copying, otherwise you may send a bunch of emails to everyone assigned to a task/issue J . What we do is export a version to Excel or to MS Project so that we have previous versions. That would be a great feature to have within Workfront though! Have you researched the 'create baseline automatically' feature/function and if need be - how to restore the project back to the baseline? Other than this built in feature/function, exporting to excel is the only other solution, I can think of. Benetta Perry APS

Hi: Versioning of plans is not possible in WorkFront. The closest thing you can do is snap a baseline and then compare a baseline to the current forecast. You cannot compare two baselines. You cannot restore a baseline and make that baseline the current forecast. Sorry!
