New feature - Default custom forms and approvals on tasks (in 19.2)

Hi, I noticed in the 19.2 release notes (and in Preview) that you can now configure a project to attach default custom forms and approval processes to tasks by default when they are created. This should come in quite handy…..especially for enforcing some default workflow on projects without having to rely on users always using templates or remembering to attach custom forms. I think the feature has a lot of value in exception reporting. i.e. if there is some custom data you need to be filled out on every task, then having the form attached by default will allow you to present users with dashboards of all the stuff they still haven't filled out. As they fill it out and refresh, it drops off the report. There's no doubt a lot a creative ways this functionality can be of benefit. Keen to hear any other ideas out there... Cheers David Cornwell

Hi David, Been thinking of you, down under, as we borrow the daylight hours back for Spring. Yes, that one stood our on the last release call I was on, too; glad to take it off my road map. Two immediate uses come to mind. I've just designed a Multiple Critical Paths solution (for complex projects where slippages could suddenly change the critical path, and/or where intermediary deliverables are deemed critical albeit not on Workfront's critical path) and the Task custom component of it would be simplified by being automated (although to be cautious, I'll like code in a fail safe). The other is a longstanding idea I'be had to bake in a ridiculous number of standard Task stats that would work best from inception (e.g. number of times the Planned Date was changed, delay between when it was Actually Completed and when it was marked as Completed, etc). I'll likely do that one as a joint venture with a colleague of mine. I'd be interested in others' thoughts, too (including yours). Regards, Doug Doug Den Hoed - AtAppStore Got Skills? We have a Creative Brief Template stored in Paper Doc and have a task for "Upload Brief" in our new projects. A custom form in the template task might be just what we need! @Shawna Naylor Lori Meek LifeChurch.tv

Hi Terry - did you find it by searching for 2019.2? I tried navigating to it but could only find 2019.1 in the product release section under Documentation. David Cornwell

I've been having really good luck with searching by going purely off search fields in the old support site. For example I have "https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/categories/202718477" title="https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/categories/202718477">https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/categories/202718477 bookmarked, and if I go to that search field to search, I can pull up search results from the old site and find a lot more. -skye
