New Document approvals Vs Proof approvals for a small team

Hi,

I am enabling proofing and approvals for a small regional team who have recently onboarded on to Workfront but have no experience of proofing yet.

Has anyone had any experience/insights in to setting up and testing the new document approvals / prep for unified approvals. I am wondering what direction to go in - whether to introduce this or keep with the current proofing.

Good Morning -

Not sure what the full use case is you are looking for.   We currently have all of our Quality documents in Workfront and use Proofing for version control and approvals.   All of our documents have to be tracked per our ISO Certification.    Happy to chat to understand your use case more and see if I can give you any insights.

1) Reporting is such a huge part of what we (admins) provide for our users that along with the functionality I would advise you to check out what reporting is available for the new document approvals before deciding to go this route. I put a link below to a discussion thread that contains a link to the canvas dashboard reporting that is available for the new document approvals (a step by step guide to building the reporting) -- this will indicate what's available and you'll be able to determine whether or not it's something you want to have and use.

2) You also seem to have other users in the system who are currently using some sort of process, so the other thing I would mention is that there's a lot of value in consistency, especially if your users are the type to transfer to other departments who are using your workfront.

Many thanks, I’ve decided against it, as that is a key consideration for us.

Our instance is global, but this team operates in a fairly siloed way and is primarily looking to use Workfront for basic requests and approvals. I had considered using this team as a test case for the new document approvals, but reporting limitations  are definitely a blocker!
