How do I change the date a project ends?

Ok, I am new here so this may not be the best place to ask this question. Please point me in the right direction. I am putting in some tasks on a project and accidentally put a complete by date on one of them as 2107 instead of 2017. Stupid me! I have changed the date, then deleted the task and not deleted the whole task list. My project still says it won't complete until 2107 and won't calculate dates properly. Yes, I have exported the project and sorted the excel by date to check to see if I made the same error somewhere else. How do I fix this? Kelly McPherson PMP VitalSmarts LLC

Did you recalculate the timeline after you deleted the task? Michael Lebowitz Marketing Analyst Michael.Lebowitz@guidewellconnect.com T 904-436-4240 | M 904-200-1364 Fax 904-565-6156 4800 Deerwood Campus Pkwy DCC 800-4-272 Jacksonville, FL 32246

Yeah the Recalculate Timeline may work as someone suggested. If not, please attach a screen shot where you're seeing the bad date show up and we can take a look. Hi Kelly, Michael and Vic are both where I'd start out. I'd also ask what your project's schedule from is set to, Start date or Completion Date. If it's Start Date, a recalculate timeline should work fine (Project -> Project Actions -> Recalculate Timeline). If it's Completion Date, you'll need to edit the project, and manually adjust the planned completion date back to a more reasonable time frame. Funny story. Over the years, we've had some folks fat finger dates like that, though usually with an extra number in it, and boy does it cause some interesting scenarios. I'd recommend avoiding that if possible. =) In any case, if you get stuck, please call into our Customer Care team, they'll create a ticket for you, send it over to our Tier 1 team, and they can help diagnose what's going on a bit better. Yes, I recalculated it and it now shows that it isn't going to take more than a hundred years to complete this project. Yeah! Unfortunately, now it won't auto-calculate any of the tasks and I have to do it manually, over and over to get my timeline. Kelly McPherson VitalSmarts LLC

Have you checked the settings under Edit Project? Is the Update Type set to Automatic Only or Automatic and On change?
