Does your team department have a Creative Resource Manager role?

Hi Sherry! We have a role called Traffic Specialist, who has a significant portion of their duties allocated to resourcing and capacity planning for our creative team. As we have several smaller cross functional teams she is the one who has the high level view of the overall resources. Additionally, she looks at our future work to identify areas where we anticipate having a resource gap within a particular function. Is that along the lines of the Creative Resource Manager role? Hi Sherry, I'm our company's Creative Services Project Manager. I'm sure there are subtle differences in my role vs. a creative resource manager, but I dictate which projects go to which resource (graphic designer, writer, freelancer, videographer/photographer, etc.). What exactly would your customer like to know? The intersection of Workfront and the resource manager? Currently, we don't use the resource management tools that are native to Workfront, but I'm hoping that we'll bring that online this year. Let me know if I can be of any additional service! Thanks! Hi Sherry In our IT Department we have restructured our teams to incorporate some new roles specifically created to coordinate resources across our Technology Services and Business Systems teams. Their focus is primarily about understanding project demand, whilst also appreciating the impact on business as usual. They are responsible for liaising with the Team Managers and PM's to coordinate the appropriate resources for project work. My role was also new last May and, as the IT Resource and Demand Analyst, I ensure there is an overall framework in place, as well as consistent processes and adoption of Workfront. We are using the Resource Planner and Scheduler and proactively review these on a weekly basis in team meetings. Hi Sherry, For many years, we have had a Creative Resource Manager Role. This role is responsible for overall management of the resources (Team members) so work assignments thru workfront are only a portion of the role. In addition to leading the teams of designers, video producers, etc etc and being responsible for their work and growth, this role is responsible for management of internal contractors as well as managing external vendors and creatives, weekly chargeback billing and overall team health. Unfortunately, we recently lost our resource manager to retirement and we are not replacing the position. We also have a traffic manager with daily workflow and assignment management. Hi! We have seen it two different ways with our various business units. Sometimes the person is in charge of overall resource planning (to put it into Workfront terms) and is looking into the future to make sure we have enough people and put in freelancer requests when needed. They are also the point person when scoping out projects to get the correct info for Creative Resources. And then sometimes the person is in charge of resource scheduling (as Workfront product would say) and are focused on the day-to-day resourcing.
