Creating a Report from the User Utilization Page under Resource Planning Tab

Hello, Please see my attached screenshot. I'm looking to recreate the User Utilization page (People>Resource Planning>User Utilization) as a report. I thought it was a User report, but these 3 allocation columns (Planned, Projected, & Actual allocation) don't exist Out Of The Box when building the report. My next thought was to 'Customize/edit' the view to copy & paste the text mode code of the columns but this page doesn't give that option. You can print the browser page to PDF, but it includes the filter information on the left and I was looking to make a scheduled report. Hi Andrew. I'd suggest you try an Assignments report instead of a User Report, which might be closer to what you're after. If it's not close enough, I invite you to consider our "http://store.atappstore.com/product/capacity-charting">Capacity Charting solution, which can combine Capacity, Planned, and Actual hours down to the person/month level (among other things), in chart format. For others following, here is a good "https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/articles/217294197-Understanding-User-Utilization">primer article about the Allocation object. Regards, Doug

I don't see allocation reports on the report menu. Is there a way to access user allocation from a dashboard? On Wed, Mar 1, 2017 at 1:36 PM ....Doug.... Whoops -- thank you, Melinda. I meant to say "Assignments" report, and have corrected my previous post. Regards, Doug

Hi Doug, Thanks for the recommendation. I've tried Assignment & Resource Estimate Reports but they don't have the columns I'm looking for. Best, Andrew Beard Sr. Associate, LeapPoint "mailto:abeard@leappoint.com" abeard@leappoint.com 203-232-4090

Hi: What columns are you looking for? Maybe we can get the data another way… Eric

Hi: Okay, here is what I do… 1) I go to the User Utilization screen (People-Resource Planning-User Utilization); 2) I set the view to All Hours (standard, out of the box view); 3) I set the Filter to select the people I want; 4) I go to the lower right to make sure it is displaying all rows; 5) Because WorkFront has inexplicably not provided an Export capability here, I cut and paste the screen into Excel. Yeah. That’s what I do. Every week. Then I run reports off of it. Sure, there might be more elegant ways to do this, but I haven’t found it yet. Does that help at all? Thanks, Eric

Hi Eric, Appreciate your work around, its not elegant but it gets you the numbers. It really is inexplicable that there is no export functionality for this page. Thanks, Andrew Sr. Associate, LeapPoint "mailto:abeard@leappoint.com" abeard@leappoint.com 203-232-4090

Can confirm that we have to do the same - copy/paste of this data. It's not very nice but gets us by. I'm eagerly awaiting news on what the new resource reporting will be like once the old Flash screens are retired. Let's hope it's a lot better!
