Can a Custom Form have an approval setting that will then trigger the status of a Project to active?

see attachment--I need to use a Custom form as a preapproval to a project request--strictly informational for all teams to ensure each is aware of foreth coming project---once each team leader sends back the approval it will then trigger the project request to be active and send notification to the PMO---Is this possible?

An Approval Path is against a Project, Task, or Issue. So in this case, the approval path would be put against the Project. You can then assign the approval to a User, Job Role, or Team. You can make so the approvals can come in any order, or that you just need one approval from many. You can also have the approval come from the Project Owner, Project Sponsor, Portfolio Owner, or Program Owner. Once you get the approval(s) you need, it can then set the status to Current (it would previously be set to "Current - pending approval") and have an email sent if the email notification is set up appropriately.

OK thank you—I think I understand ☺ Next question---- Scenario—when PMO gets a new request—a sponsor goes to the Project we have designated—they begin with a custom form and it is logged within the request project as an issue---it requires information (obviously), choices for the sponsor to make so that the PMO can analyze the information to determine if it will come to fruition as a true project—at that time the issue is generated into it’s own Project from the Request Project Issue information. Have I lost you yet? ☺ On the custom form in the Project Request Issue—I would like to alter the outcomes from there. 1. On this Project Request Issue---can I upload a document that has approvals before the Request Issue is triggered to current? 2. On the actual Custom for in the Project Request Issue---can I embedded an approval system in there that is dependant upon the answers that they supply. EX. If QA is required—can an approval be automatically sent to the QA director that will require his approval that he/she has in fact been made aware that a new project is coming? Once the approvals come back that ledership from each stakeholders department have seen the “new” project that they will, at some point, be involved in—it send the issue to current which will then trigger the notification that the Project Request Issues have all been approved and now the project becomes Current and Active? Whew!!!---I will end with those, I have many many more.
