Is there a way that when you add a document in a specific project that a custom form is automatically attached to the document? Polly Co

Not unless there's some way to do it via API. Idea exchange? I know from a proofing perspective Workfront Proof just released a feature where custom fields can be attached to a proof at the point of proof generation, but that seems like a whole other bag of problems. -skye

This is one of the things that our automation platform CSConnect can accomplish. There are some missing links like building multi-asset campaigns, automatically converting requests to projects, and others that just make Workfront work better. -- Melinda Layten, Senior Consultant Work Management Improvement CapabilitySource Phone: (484) 505-6855 site: www.capabilitysource.com email: melinda.layten@capabilitysource.com Helpful? i had to create a custom form and put it in a folder and have the folder named specifically for what it is to be used for. I attached this to the project template. When a project is created the custom form is there, but hidden in the folder - when the needed document is upload - everyone should know the corresponding form is inside the folder on the documents tab - easy to see by everyone. This was my workaround. Benetta Perry APS

Maybe via event subscription... will have to think about that one. I wish it's something that WF has inherently. I've put up the idea on the idea exchange if any one is interested in upvoting. I'm guessing we can train our users to add the custom form but I'm wishing it's something that WF can do automatically. Upvoted this one for you. This is sorely needed for Tasks and Issues as well. It is a never ending battle on the admin side to check exception reports each week to ensure that when PMs add new Tasks or Issues to projects that custom forms are attached. We rely heavily on this for reporting. It would be SOOOO nice if you could setup the template and/or project so that any new Tasks that are created have the identified forms attached! Dear Polly, If you give your users a view (via the interface layout templates) that includes a field from the custom form, if they fill the field in it will automatically attach the form. It makes it a little easier than specifically attaching a form which feels a little technical for day to day users. Barry Buchanan Work Management Australia

Hi Barry, Interesting concept - I'll have to see how I can work this in as part of the process. Polly Co

@Barry Buchanan Were you able to make this work? I've tried a few things - I created a report and added the fields as columns and put it in the dashboard and then added it to the project space as a custom tab. I couldn't change the content of the fields. I've switched to text mode and applied makeFieldEditable=true but I still couldn't edit the field. I've also tried modifying the view on the document tab itself and adding the custom form fields there, again it's not editable. I also tested adding a new document after doing the above things and the custom does not attach to the new document added. Polly Co

Unfortunately Documents aren't enabled for in-line editing. Not sure why, but this has been that way for years. -- Melinda Layten, Senior Consultant Work Management Improvement CapabilitySource Phone: (484) 505-6855 site: www.capabilitysource.com email: melinda.layten@capabilitysource.com Helpful? We use an document form to attach to our final documents. Does anyone know if its possible to have this form auto-attached to the documents vs. attaching it each time?
