Amount of Hours Assigned to an Issue

We have several projects established as queues into which members of our team can submit issues for work to be done. When these issues are entered, they are assigned, by default, to a number of hours, but there is no field to adjust the number of hours when the issue is entered, the user has to go back to the issue and edit it to change the number of hours. Is there a way to adjust the default assignment of the number of hours to correct an issue? The default hours are currently negatively impacting our allocations.

When you say the "they are assigne, by default, to a number of hours", are you referring to the default duration of the issue?

The hours are calculated based on the default duration of the queue topic. The only way around this, that I'm aware of, would be to display the "Planned Hours" field on the request form. This would allow the user entering the request to adjust the planned hours when entering the request.

Yes, that's correct. Thank you for clarifying. The duration of the issue autofills to 24 hrs for a normal priority issue.

Thanks, unfortunately changing the duration of the issue does not seem to adjust the planned hours.

In your queue setup, check the "Planned Hours" to display when creating an issue. Whatever you enter here will be the Planned Hours for the issue.
