Project Status Snapshot with Baselines

We would like to document custom information of a project for status reporting. A nice way for us to do this would be either by using the update feed within a project or baselines. It is important to us that we can build a report even on historic data not only the current content of the custom form. An idea to enable this would be to make the information in custom forms of baselines static. It would show the Content of the custom form at the time the baseline was created.
