Filter Out Projects by Status in Work Balancer

Need to be able to exclude from the Workload Balancer views projects with the status of Cancelled, On Hold or status equates to Dead, Hold, etc. I'm looking at a colleague with 72-hr, 22-hr, 12-hr, 12-hr, and 12-hr days (all in the same week) and the culprit seems to be Cancelled (=Dead) and On Hold (=Hold) projects.

Am a system admin using Workfront New Experience 21.4 release Workload Balancer: Search All Fields. When I select Search All Fields, then use its search bar for status, pick either Project Status or Project Status Equates With (same result either way) the drop down box to pick the criteria for that field is immediately blank and if I click into it, it shows "no matches found". If I type into it it continues to show "no matches found".

It also doesn't seem able to handle "Ors" as the 'grayed out' heading states "Include if all are true". A project wouldn't have more than one status assigned to it so even if this field worked it seems to me I'd only be able to exclude one status or equates with at a time.

Wish I could edit this post. Clarifying info:

Within the Resourcing section of WNE, I am able, very easily, to create and save a variety of functioning filters.

However, I am experiencing this specific issue posted here within a Project's Workload Balancer when expanding the user row to see what is causing the overage. Within this portion of the system it seems I cannot use remove the jobs not actually in the pipeline which are all we typically care about when scheduling. Also cannot access Workload Balancer Filters I'd already created within the Resourcing Workload Balancer section.
