I think this is the same thing, but having a "people" field option in the custom form that links back to our user database. So I could call the field Art Director and it is linked to an actual person's ID.

We would like "Auto Populate Custom Fields", Custom Form fields should be dynamic like the existing fields for 'Primary Contact' or 'Assignments'. Currently if a project has a custom form in a task, the custom form fields are open text and do not auto populate, even when the information being requested is already captured in the system.

Susan Pfeil, I'm looking for exactly the same thing! Having people enter names in as text will introduce too many errors and too many variants of the same name (take your name for example, it could be entered as "Susan", "Sue", "Sue P", "Sue Pfeil", or even "Susan File")

Thanks for submitting this Susan! I'd like to put a spin on the idea and ask WF to have this functionality available on both Resources AND Project IDs. This functionality would be great if I could create a custom attribute on the project to track up/downstream impacted projects and the drop down list would only return active project IDs. Today, with this functionality not available, users have to manually enter in the ID and we have to cross our fingers that they enter the ID correctly.

I'd like it to have the ability to reference any Object > Name!! Could be user name, project name, program name, the list continues... :)
