Fusion Watch Event module update?

Avatar

Hello,

I thought I saw an announcement a few weeks back that the Fusion Workfront Watch events module had an update and needed to be replaced with a new v2 module. I can't find this announcement now and I am wondering if it was true and what the steps are. Anyone know what I am talking about?

Hi @Tvasilovic,

An announcement went out a few weeks ago about upgrading Event Subscriptions to v2 by January 15, 2026. Below is a copy of what the body of that announcement looked like:

On January 15, 2026, Adobe Workfront will remove support for Event Subscription v1, and customers should ensure they upgrade all Adobe Workfront Fusion watch modules to Event Subscription v2 as soon as possible to avoid disruptions.

This message is for Adobe Workfront customers using Fusion Adobe Workfront Watch Modules. If you are not using Adobe Workfront Watch Modules, you can disregard this message.

Adobe Workfront has introduced v2 of Adobe Workfront Watch Modules messages, bringing enhanced performance and new capabilities. To ensure continued functionality, customers must upgrade to v2 before January 15, 2026.

Key Dates

  • 25.2 Release (April 10, 2025): All new Adobe Workfront Watch Modules created after the 25.2 release are created as v2.
  • 25.3 Release(July 17, 2025): Adobe Workfront Watch Modules can no longer be downgraded to v1 after the 25.3 release. No longer cutting off ability to downgrade to allow for flexibility while testing through upgrades.
  • January 15, 2026: All remaining v1 Adobe Workfront Watch Modules are migrated to v2.

How to Upgrade

  1. Review the details on versioning here, and what breaking changes will occur.
  1. You can use the new “Upgrade Events Payload Version” module outlined here.
  1. Test your integration to ensure scenarios still work.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Workfront Support.

That announcement was specifically for upgrading any v1 event subscriptions that are used by Workfront Watch Modules. More details about the differences between Event Subscription v1 and v2 can be found on the Event subscription versioning page. At that bottom of that page includes a section for Fusion and how customers can upgrade as well as a Webinar that was held discussing the major breaking changes and how to upgrade.

If that doesn't sound familiar, there were also release notes from October 20, 2025 detailing a new Workfront Connector that is now available. The important note at the top of the Adobe Workfront modules page indicates that modules in the legacy Workfront Connector will continue to work until the 28.4 release. Instructions for upgrading a module to a new version can be found on the Upgrade a module to a new version page.

⚠️ These two upgrades are distinctly different and do not influence or depend on each other. Each upgrade can be done independently. Each upgrade is considered a breaking change, though not all event subscriptions will be broken after upgrade (see the Event Subscription versioning page linked above). However, the v2 Event Subscription upgrade has a much sooner deadline and should be prioritized.
