Working from home isn’t new, but shifting to an entirely distributed, virtual workforce IS new and, for many organizations, unprecedented.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing our best tips and best practices for navigating the shift to a virtual workforce. Our goal isn’t to overwhelm, but rather to share what we’ve learned from thousands of customers - and our own Workfront employees - about communication, collaboration, prioritization and visibility.
Below is a list of our very best resources, across the Workfront Blog, recorded webinars and our own resource library. It’s your very own Workfront Survival Toolkit!
Collaboration and Communication
- Need ideas? Here are 6 Ways to Collaborate with Workfront
- Get connected. Integrate Workfront into tools your team is already using, such as Slack or MS Teams, to collaborate within the project or task. Workfront customers shared ideas for how to keep communication flowing using IM, you can see those here. And if you have any questions, Workfront Support is available 24/7.
- Leverage Templates. No need to start from scratch, follow our lead! At Workfront, our executive leadership team has initiated a business continuity plan (BCP) to ensure our employees are safe, that we continue to support our customers and that our company remains strong. Here, we share how the BCP team is operating using our own instance of Workfront. Import the COVID-19 Corporate Response Program Management template within the article directly into your environment. Learn how to import projects, here!
- Communicating Critical Information. A customer in higher education shared a great tip for communicating critical updates and information. They’ve added announcements to the top of custom forms to communicate changes to key audiences, and are adjusting templates to include policy changes or other critical information.
- Ask the Expert. Mastering digital collaboration can be easy. Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, March 25 at 9 a.m. MST for our Ask the Expert webinar focused on Results-Oriented Collaboration. Register here.
Prioritization and Resource Management
Maximize Visibility
- Team Dashboard. Build a dashboard to see all the projects and tasks your team has in progress, what might be late, planned, completed, or even causing roadblocks. Learn more in this Manage Your Team’s Work Using Dashboards blog post, which provides you with step by step instructions for building custom reports.
- Intake Queues. Consider adding an intake queue to help manage new or unplanned requests and ensure all work is accounted for. This is a foundational step in ensuring your organization is focused on it’s most important work. To learn more, register here for a live, instructor-led webinar on Queue Management scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 at 8 a.m. MST. The archived Leap 2019 Understand and Create a Workfront Request Queue presentation (with printable handout) is another great resource.
Have questions? We have answers! In addition to all the great resources listed above, we’re offering our customers free 45-minute sessions with a Workfront Consultant. No question is too big or small, we’re here to help.
Need Education? Take free, LIVE instructor-led training on a wide variety of topics. In Workfront Ascent, see all live training events under a new category in the Learning Library, called "Live Training” or check the updated Live Training calendar. Learn and interact with our experienced Training Specialists!
