Workfront Certified System Admin Spotlight: Kyna Baker
Q: What was your background before learning Workfront (super technical, lots of project management, or totally something different)?
A: I never thought of myself as technical throughout school—my degree is in communications, but I have always loved learning a new technology platform, so when I had the opportunity to dig into Workfront, I jumped with both feet!
Q: In two sentences or less, how does your organization use Workfront?
A: We use Workfront in all of our departments, I typically use it for managing work related to the community and telling our customer’s success stories.
Q: What is the Workfront accomplishment you are most proud of?
A: I was able to make a calendar that accurately reflected multiple moving pieces as it relates to customer communications and our Lion Awards program.
Q: How will being Workfront system admin certified change things for you?
A: I’m excited about being able to take the certification with me throughout my career, and already, my organization is recognizing my expertise by giving me additional responsibilities and rewarding me for doing so.
Q: If you could time travel and go back tell your newbie-Workfront self anything, what would it be?
A: This might sound silly, but TASK CONSTRAINTS changed everything for me. Once I understood how those worked, everything else seemed to fall into place.
Q: What areas of work management do you consider yourself an expert in?
A: I’m knowledgeable in calendars, project management, and proofing. I wouldn’t understand any questions about timesheets or resource management right now because I just don’t use Workfront to do those things.
Q: Finally, as a fun way to get to know you, when you get snacky and need a quick treat‚Äîwhat is your favorite “vice”?
A: I love Chili Cheese Fritos. I don’t like the regular flavor of Fritos, but I do love a bag of Chili Cheese Fritos occasionally!
