Hi Kathy, The new search experience is currently released to your Preview instance only. The keyboard command of Alt + / is not required to use the new search and is just in addition to be used along with clicking on the Search icon. We are aware of your search issue in Production for the new experience and have been working on a fix. I just updated this status on "https://one.workfront.com/s/question/0D50z00006Px3FVCAZ/" this thread and will also include the response here: Unfortunately we were not able to get a quick fix deployed to your production instance for this issue. As part of our weekly updates to the new experience beta that occur on Thursdays, we will be turning on a new search experience that is currently available in your Preview instance. The update occurs overnight tonight and should be available for US customers in the morning. This will ensure we resolve the issue you are experiencing now with the search window not closing without a page refresh or hitting the close button. Also, the new search experience will provide the following benefits based on many of your feedback items during this beta: Quickly search in the top navigation and see typeahead suggestions grouped by object Open the Search Results in a full page allowing you to navigate back and forth from the Search Results page and other pages using the Back or Forward button in your browser Open Advanced Search by clicking a link at the bottom of the Search menu Filter search results using the same filters available in Workfront Classic Josh Boston Workfront

As one of the few people who liked the Recents on the search page, I'm disappointed to see them gone on the menu that opens. I actually never used the Recents under the favorites - out of sight, out of mind. I started using them a lot on the Search page.

I agree with Heather, we liked the search page although we can get used to looking in the favorites icon for our 'recents'. However, @Josh Boston , where are we to go for a general search? To search for a project (for example) we click in the search icon (magnifying glass) and choose projects in the drop down, then type in the project number. The project name comes up but we can't link to it. We need to choose that project name and then hit the refresh button in order to be directed to that project. I can't imagine this is how this functionality should work. Is it just us or are others experiencing this as well? Also on that search page we still see all our recents searches and although the links aren't active, if we hit 'refresh' we will be also be directed to those recently searched items. Kathy, I noticed late last week that when I click on a project link that I've searched for it does load - in the background behind the search. I have to close the search with the X in the upper right corner. I submitted a ticket, but I suspect with the upcoming changes to search loading in a side menu instead of the full page, this is how it's designed. But this piece changed before the search menu change came through.

Hi Heather and Kathy, Thank you for highlighting your issue with Search. We will be applying a fix to resolve the issue you are seeing with not being able to open a search result. We expect this to be resolved tomorrow morning (US MST). Thanks, Josh Josh Boston Workfront

I have a ton of problems with the search. The main issue is that it always shows the oldest things first with no way to sort by date even though there is somewhat of a date column. And today, as I went to test and make sure this note I'm writing is correct, when I click Advanced, it cleared the search and didn't retain the keywords I was looking. Also, the page is now stuck on Advanced Search and no matter where I click it won't move out of the screen until I refresh.

My two cents... We like the move of Recents to the Search area instead of the Favorites area. Would like to be able to sort the results with most recent at the top. Hope this is helpful. Liisa Blick

Hi @Josh Boston Following up on this updated search. The 2/28 release states that the 'search' page was removed and now a menu opens. A menu does not open for us. When we click on search, the original page (supposedly removed) opens with all our 'recent searches' but the links don't work. Instead, when we complete our search from that page we then need to 'X; out of that page and the object we chose will be opened behind it. This has become very disruptive for my team. Is this something still being worked on or should I open a ticket seeing as we still see the search page? Typing Alt+ / works but it's not a great user experience since one has to remember what to type as opposed to clicking an icon. We use commit dates on assigned tasks pretty often. Is there a way to add commit dates to the Task Summary pane? I looked in layouts but didn't see a way to customize it. Kristy Musgrove Havertys

Re Updates Here in the UK we have noticed that the dates are still in US format. We have checked browser settings and these are set to UK: Jane Bradshaw BAKKAVOR LTD

Would it be possible to get a Project Summary and Issue Summary Pane like the task summary? My users are responding well to the Task Summary functionality. Also adding Issues to the Task Summary pane would be useful. Kristy Musgrove Havertys

And should we be able to access the Task Summary when on a Task report? Kristy Musgrove Havertys

Hi Kristy, Yes, the Issue Summary is available when viewing a list of issues. You can right click and Open Summary when viewing a list of issues on a project, task or subtasks. As you can see in your Preview instance, we are adding a new icon to the list toolbar to allow users to open the summary from the toolbar. This will move to production in the new experience with the 20.1 release. We do have on our roadmap to add the Summary to more areas including a list of Projects. Currently, the Summary is not supported on any reports. Would you mind sharing your use case for having access to the Summary on a Task report? Josh Boston Workfront

I'll check my issues again but I didn't see the option on my issues list yesterday. I have reports for our partners, which have review licences, that shows them all of the tasks they have access to ,grouped by project name, without giving them view access to the whole project. It would make these reports more conciseness if instead of adding a ton of columns for all of the status and update fields to only have the very high level status and view the summary for more detail without navigating away from the report. We also do a lot of task updates on like tasks from reports. For example I have a task report for all tasks named "Parts Templates" in our Quality Control projects. Each Project, which is for a specific product, has this task on it. Our workers will often pick a day to only work Parts templates and will use the report to update these tasks without having to search each project individually. Summary on the report would allow them to make updates without navigating from the report. Kristy Musgrove Havertys
