Team feedback: looks like smartsheets or microsoft project

My team is still using My Work. I've recently showed them the New Experience and their first reaction was "ugh we are going back to smartsheets". It lacks color and design. It's only an excel list. Don't make us change. So for creatives the look and feel will be a big hurdle to overcome in adoption. Aileen Taylor Cell Signaling Technology

Interesting... isn't Smart Sheet just an Excel list? I guess there isn't a way for Workfront to appease everyone because our people like the blue and grey so much better than the orange and black. With all the change mgmt we do (we have 15 different agencies we have brought into our Workfront instance), is that we have people give us specific things they don't like. We don't allow "I just don't like it." As humans, we are designed to hate things that are different from what we are used to using. We find that when we get people to give specifics, 1) we have specific things to give back to Workfront, 2) we can create workarounds to help them (like some people don't like Home so we have a custom dashboard for them), and 3) we can give them the "what's in it for me" talk including those points. Now we might be in a better place than you since we have a ton of integrations and since most of the network is on the tool, agencies that work with other agencies on some client can't just easily pull out and expect to have the rest of the network follow them because they don't like the orange button. (True story, a creative director tried to stop an implementation because he didn't like that the Done button was orange. LOL!) Anthony Imgrund FCB

Aileen, you'll need to get buy-in from whomever manages the creatives, or this will be a no-win situation forever. Our implementation for 200-ish users was the same as Anthony's comment: We don't allow "I just don't like it." We've been at it for 5 months, after switching from a custom-written system we used for over 15 years. Maybe a dozen people liked the switch to Workfront. The olive branch is that we will customize, tweak, call support, put in Idea Exchange tickets, etc. to try and bend Workfront to our will and their needs over time. Kevin Quosig

Hey Anthony - Would love to hear what your custom dashboard for the stand-in for home looks like. I have been thinking through how to best do that for users in our system as well! Thanks, Dylan Dylan Vargas Worldwide

Hi - My web page screenshot tool isn't working so I moved the widgets into PPT and saved them. Hopefully you can read it. This is the template that we tend to use. Some teams want to maybe add a link to their Team Working On Calendar or add a Resource Planner widget. Some will change a column or two or expand filters. But this is pretty much the standard.
