Report grouping row shading is the same grey for all levels of groupings

Hi, I noticed that in the New Experience, all grouping rows in reports use the same shade of grey (and it's the same as the header row too). This makes it hard to clearly see at what level the grouping is. See below as a comparison of the Classic and New UI. I much prefer the classic in this regard. Can Workfront please reinstate this functionality? Thanks Regards, David Cornwell

Hi, David, Yes, in the new styles all groupings have the same grey color, they differ with grouping name indentation levels. We're changing the column header to a darker grey so that it differs from the groupings. I will take your feedback to our UX team for consideration. Thank you! Lilit Lilit Mkrtchyan Workfront

Hello David, I totally agree with you. I much prefer the classic styling too. I think there are a lot of improvements within the NWE, but I really have to state that the UX in some points definitely got worse because of trying to reduce the colour scheme. I am working on a detailed article with further points I noticed - hopefully I have the time to post it soon. Best, Stephan Stephan Siller

And the size of the grouping box looks more than doubled, it just wastes so much space. 😞 Sheri Whitten

Thanks @Lilit Mkrtchyan - personally I much prefer the different colour shades than the indentation (or we could have both). 🙂 Most importantly, can you please, please remove the blank padding from the grouping rows? It currently adds an extra 3 blank rows to every grouping row, meaning that 3 levels of grouping rows take up nearly half of the vertical space before you can even see any data rows! Thanks David Cornwell

Hello, David, I totally see your point about the colors and have brought this to the attention of our UX team, so we'll review the groupings colors and decide if we need to make any changes here. As for the size of the grouping headers, that's not an intentional change. We already have a ticket logged for it and the team is working on a resolution. As always, thank you for the continuous feedback on the product changes and for helping us to improve. Lilit Lilit Mkrtchyan Workfront

Hello, Sherri, Thank you for highlighting the problem. I'd like to assure you know that we're aware of the extra spacing displayed on some groupings, and are already working on a fix. Thanks again! Lilit Lilit Mkrtchyan Workfront

I also agree the new shading is a hindrance rather than an improvement. Louise Reynolds Premier Farnell Senior Global Marketing Workflow Specialist
