As a global marketing agency we have a great deal of projects constantly changing and adapting. We are new to Workfront and certainly still finding our feet. I would like to know more around Project Management solutions and functionalities particularly around post project live planning/amends.

Hi Marc - we utilize the Baseline functionality in Workfront.
First, we have it setup that a baseline is automatically created the first time you move a project into Current status (Setup -> Project Preferences -> Projects). This captures what was supposed to happen.
If the changes a PM makes are just to the timing, that is fine. They update the project schedule. We just compare slippage to that first baseline.
If the changes require adding more tasks, then the Project Manager should save a new baseline first before adding the new tasks. Ideally, if new tasks need to be added, that will mean more hours so there should be a revised scope of work created that the client and finance needs to approve. When the scope is revised, the timing of the tasks already completed will be considered (and the actual hours used).
Hope that helps.

Hi Anthony
Apologies for the very late reply. I was on leave so only just seen your message now.
Many thanks for the guidance, this makes total sense. One quick question, how would the PM save a new version of a baseline once the project is Live?
Kind regards
Marc

As long as your system admin hasn't hidden it on the layout template, it should under the More tab on a project (if you are using Classic Interface) or in the left nav on a project (if you are using NWE).
