I wish there was a notification option to receive an email when someone accepts a task or issue they are assigned to. Anyone? 🙂

Riana, Take a look at your email notification settings. There are a LOT of notifications you can enable, it would surprise me if getting a notification when someone accepts a task or issue you've assigned them isn't on the list. Here's a training doc that goes over how to configure your notifications . I think it might be helpful. In Reply to Riana Bocchino:

I am looking for the same thing, and so far, I have not found that option in the email notification settings 😞

Yeah, I don't think there is a notification when someone accepts the work request. Although I'm not sure you'd want that. We have some tasks that have 200 tasks and each has 2 or more people. That would be at least 400 emails per project! An idea though that we did to help our PMs know if someone accepted the work or ignored it in their Work Requests list is use the Assignments and Status field. We have a report that is Tasks Due This Week on All My Projects and use that field. That way if they see Requested instead of Working, they know they definitely need to follow up with that assignee since they might not know they need to work on the task. See attached screenshot so you can see what I mean.

Anthony, this worked great! I actually made a new View with that column, so our PMs can quickly toggle between their usual view and this one as needed. Thanks again for the suggestion! I'm back for more thoughts from the group on notifications! Confirmed that neither of these are possible at the moment so I thought I'd post here to start a discussion, gauge interest for feature requests... 1. When activating a new email notification - I wish there was a way to have this new email notification preference be unchecked for all users by default instead of the other way around - all automatically checked. Thoughts? 2. A timesheet has been submitted. I wish there was an option to unselect to stop notifications when a timesheet has been submitted for approval. The few users we have designated as "time approvers" have to approve hundreds of timesheets so their work related notifications are getting lost in the timesheet submitted notifications. When I reached out to customer care they said that these notifications are built in.

Hi Riana,

For the first one, you can do a bulk edit of your people and deselect that option and uncheck it. Just be careful you do not check the box for that notifcation category/group. If that terrifies you a little (it is terrifying to bulk edit. 😉 ), you can send an annoucement through Workfront to everyone that this is a new notification and if they don't want it, they can turn off email alerts. Might be a great way to remind them about that setting. I get people all the time surprised they can personally turn off email alerts.

For the second one, there is a notifcation called "Timesheet Submission to Approver." If they don't want to get notifications, I would just turn that off. (see attachment)

Anthony - thank you! 1. When trying to bulk edit it looks like you can only select to turn it on, not off. Unless I'm missing a step. 2. We are looking to stop the in-app notifications - not the email for the "I need to approve a timesheet." I went into the email notifications system admin settings and this notification wasn't even activated. Weird, right? I'm doing a test though - I've activated and sent an annoucement to ask people to go in and unselect it to see if it stops the in-app notifications. Thanks, as always, for your thoughts and help.
