Editing custom form in project details

I have to say that editing a custom form in the project details is much more cumbersome in the New Experience than in Classic. The edit "button" (pencil) is in the upper right corner, everything is spaced out further and it requires more scrolling. If you are editing choices in drop downs and trying to remove the choice, not just change it, the option to choose "select" is gone and I have to select & delete (usually requiring double clicking) to get rid of the incorrect choice. Hi Sue, I agree on most of those points....especailly on the excess white space....it really needs to be condensed down. The lack of a "Select" option to clear a field is frustrating because you have to either click and select then hit delete on the keyboard, or triple click then hit delete....much slower than the current functionality. One other thing I noticed...if you use the typeahead feature on a dropdown box, instead of filtering down the list it just highlights the matching entries in the list and you still have to scroll manually to see them. It would be best if it dynamically filtered the list as you type. Regards, David David Cornwell

I've also mentioned to support that the edit pencil opens all the custom forms, not just the one that you want to edit. Depending on the scope, we sometimes add new tasks onto an already complete project to make minor edits (e.g. re-print of a brochure, extend the date range of a featured ad). In that case we may need to make edits to one of the custom forms, but if a new required field has been added to one of the other forms on the project (and we generally have multiple forms) it will require you to fill in that field on that other form. And we may not want that field filled in for this project since it wasn't part of the original project - or the person making the edit may not know what should be in that new field since it would generally come through on a request and be filled in by someone else.

Hi everyone, Thanks much for the feedback here! That's super helpful! As a comment to Heather's feedback, I want to share the logic of the custom forms editing on object details pages: When you click the "edit" pencil in the top right corner or double click on the field you want to edit - the screen goes to the edit mode, but only the expanded custom forms are being validated on the required fields, so in the case Heather has shared, if the custom form with required fields is collapsed - you can edit all the other custom forms without having troubles with the required fields that the collapsed custom form contains. Hello - wanted to comment on this thread about editing in a custom form in New Experience in Production... I was reviewing the content of a custom form on a project, I was not in edit mode. I noticed a field that should have been updated, but wasn't. I clicked the +add that appeared just below the field label to make a quick update. Doing this sent the form into edit mode, which completely re-positioned the form on my screen so much that I had to use a browser search to locate the field again to make my update. It add extra unnecessary time, to something that should have been relatively quick to do. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there anything on the roadmap for Beta to address this?
