Any Project Coordinators / Creative Traffic Folks Want to Meet Up?

Hi all! I'm really hoping to have some good chats with people in similar positions as myself. My creative team gets anywhere between 70 and 110 requests in a week and I am responsible for vetting all of them out and assigning to the team. Most of our work is very production heavy so a lot of our projects are fast turnarounds with multiple rounds of revisions (no cap) and very little heads up as to what is coming and when. I would love to pick your brains at LEAP and discuss how you effectively plan for an unpredictable queue and what do you do to keep designers from burning out while maintaining that fast turnaround? Anyone interested please let me know and we can plan to meet up in Nashville! Monique Evans Stanley Black & Decker, Inc.

Hi Monique, I am actually in a very similar environment with hundreds of requests per week per "Project Specialist" (these are our project owners for these types of projects) for creative production and sometimes seemingly endless revisions. I am no longer in that role, but I was in that role for a year and have spent the past two years working in a process improvement/more involved admin role with that same team so I am still very aware of all their processes within the system. Our structure is a little different where we have a decent-sized team of people trafficking, but we deal with many difficulties on this side as well. I don't know if I would be the best to help suggest solutions, but it would be great to be involved in this discussion and put our heads together and hopefully someone with good suggestions can come along and join this. 🙂 Thanks so much! Hey! I'd be open to chatting with you and anyone interested. Collaborating and learning from others is a great way to get to better solutions! We face a pretty similar challenge. We do about 300-350 graphics jobs a month with dozens of "change requests" a week. Workfront's request routing to automate job traffic managing was a key piece in why we went with WF rather than the other tools we were considering. I'm the admin of our system so I have a fairly good understanding of how to configure this kind of thing and could maybe offer some tips. David Bray Trane US Inc

Yes, definitely! We work with mostly freelance graphic designers and agencies and it is sometimes hard to wrangle where everyone is at and assess for capacity - we also get a high volume of requests per week and many of them frequently shift in priority. We must start a Traffic Management Fan Club... Angela Simon CUNA Mutual Group

I'd love to be in on this chat! We just launched Workfront to our company last week so still very new to the platform, but I'm managing about 20+ requests a week from about 200 people worldwide. Would love tips from Workfront experts! Thank you! Emma Holland STR

YES! 🙂 I would love to connect with fellow PM/traffic folks. This is my first time at a LEAP conference but we've been using WF since Nov 2015. We have a small in house team of 6 designers + a few outside freelancers and receive over 100 requests a month for emails, collateral, event deliverables, and online brand campaigns (which can be beastly!). Maybe we could all meet up during lunch or at one of the networking breaks? Suggestions: Tuesday - 12:10 Lunch 2:30 Networking session Wed - 9:55 Networking session 12:05 Lunch Tara Carey Neustar, Inc.

Hey everyone! We have had similar challenges, and have a few solutions we can share - or at least, approaches that have worked well for our high-volume production teams. I'd be more than happy to coordinate an invite; the lunch session on Tuesday is an option, or we could try for an early breakfast meet up. The scheduled sessions at LEAP are very valuable, and I'd be hard pressed to recommend skipping any of those. Feel free to send me a note and I'll set up a calendar invite; jwennerstrum@periscope.com. Cheers, Jaimeson Jaimeson Wennerstrum VP, Project Management Office and Global Process Periscope, Inc.

Hi Monique/Brittany, Sign me up for a meet-up in Nashville. I manage two-groups one with normal marcom processes and one with more production never-ending, no limit workloads. I haven't had a chance to explore LEAP yet, is there a place to post meet-ups? Aileen Aileen Taylor Cell Signaling Technology

Thanks everyone for your interest and speedy replies. I'm currently looking at the times a few people suggested as well as my own schedule to see what works best for everyone. I'll also reach out to WF and see if there is a possibility for making an official networking session for us during a lunch or breakfast hour. There's also the possibility for early Monday or late Thursday depending on flights and plans. Monique Evans Stanley Black & Decker, Inc.
