This may just run so counter to Adobe's philosophy that it's immediately a non-starter, but, one of the appeals of Report Builder (as well as purely third-party platforms like Tableau and PowerPoint) is that, in Excel, I can set up a custom theme to control the overall look and feel of deliverables. Even if this were clunky/complicated, it would be very nice to be able to get out of the Adobe-chosen green-based palette and font selection. Two ways this could work:Customize the CSSThis would be t...

I would love the ability to have a compact way to see multiple aspects of a single metric. This is a pretty common requirement with a lot of my stakeholders, as they want to see:The current value (for the most recent day or week or month)A comparison to some other period (same day previous week, previous day, etc.)A compact trend (sparkline) of the data that extends beyond the current periodExample (from Excel with Report Builder) below (this example also lists the MIN and MAX for the trended ra...

Ah. But...that only works if the legend is displayed, I guess. And, the legend is redundant on a single line chart. I usually turn off the legend in the battle to not have the charts to try to preserve space where I can.

I've been burned on this multiple times with AW -- an inadvertent hitting of the "Back" button (not really hitting a button -- but an unfortunate swipe on the Mac), and 45 minutes of work is trashed. I get that I can't click away without getting prompted to save, but I still have -- multiple times -- managed to lose a decent amount of work and wished that I'd had an autosave a la Ad Hoc Analysis.

It would be great to have the ability to change the font size, style (bold / standard), and color (maybe) in the titles of panels and visualizations.A crude illustration:This would make it more feasible to do some degree of grouping of views of the metrics, as well as to draw the user's eyes to the key visualizations.

When mousing over a data point in a chart, it would be nice to see the actual value for the point. When anomalies are turned on, the mouseover shows the anomaly detail (% above/below expected). It seems like a natural that the actual value would show when mousing over. The date is nice, but that's actually easier to figure out from the x-axis. Ideally, it would show both.I realize this detail is in the underlying table, but I frequently kill the table and just leave the line chart, so the user lo...

Yeah. I've done that (if I understand correctly). Below is a (crude) illustration of what I'm describing. There are separate ideas to be submitted about being able to turn off the borders of visualizations, as well as controlling the font size/style in headings. But, I think I want to have all of these in one panel so the end user can easily apply a segment to all of the visualizations (and not have the clutter of the date selector being repeated many times. There are three visualizations per me...

The "horizontal bar" visualizations seem to have a fixed "100%" x-axis basis. That's okay (sort of) if they're showing volume values like visits or orders or revenue. But, they make for some unhelpful displays when looking at other metrics. In the example below, it's difficult to see the relative difference in conversion rates, because the bars are all very short. Conversely, the AOV appears to have an x-axis of "$100," so any AOV over that just maxes out the bar, which makes little sense. Ideal...

When trying to lay out multiple components for a single metric -- say a single number, a comparison, and a trend line, it can be hard to delineate which visualizations "go together." I've been known to drop a text visualization with a space in it as a clunky way to make a horizontal line. But, there's no option at all to put any vertical delineators. Having "decoration" visualizations that enabled some level of visually grouping / delineating blocks of visualizations would be very useful when us...

Chiming in as another vote that (almost) the only reason I keep (or use) Parallels on my Mac is so I can run Report Builder. It would be great to have a Report Builder option for Mac, as I've also got clients that are all Mac-based, so Report Builder is only usable if I build and schedule something to be sent to them. They can't actually edit/own/refresh the queries.

Chiming in on this as well. "Black box" is a good way to describe it. Presumably, there are some specific steps that go into the processing of a classification file, and, presumably, there is some definitive point when the classification is "done." I regularly run into cases -- especially when I'm setting up new classifications -- where I don't know if there is something wrong with the file I've uploaded or if I simply haven't waited long enough to see the results. If there was a, "Hey, we're al...

I'd love to see this happen. There are two aspects to this, and Mike really hits on a big one (which I think Web_Analyst is referring to, too):Actually centrally maintaining the solution design; this would be useful for the implementation analysts and IT and, potentially, could even be used by a tag auditing solution that would crawl the site and validate tag completeness. The *business user* potential, to me, is an even bigger deal. It makes me a little ill every time I groan because a client ha...

For Data Warehouse .csv queries, the file has three pesky characters -- -- at the beginning of the file. At best, that's just a nuisance, but, at worse, it requires some cleanup scripting if that file is being pulled into another system via FTP. From poking around online, this has to do with the encoding of the file. It would be great to never see those characters again.
