Up until recently, you had two options:Don't set any timestamps anywhere, and let Adobe data collection servers take care of it for you. If Adobe sees any hits with timestamps, the hit is discarded. Almost all standard implementations use this method. You set the timestamps in every hit. If Adobe sees a hit without a timestamp, the hit is discarded. Many mobile app implementations use this method, due to its ability to upload hits after a mobile device has internet connectivity.Recently, timestam...

Click-throughs or Last touch channel instances metric means the number of times channel value is set(not persisted). Its a way to measure exact number of times user comes from a specific channel. It bypasses the overriding configuration meaning an overriding channel can get the visit credit but not the click-through. For example: Consider Paid ,Natural Search are overriding channels but Direct is non-overriding channelVisit 1 :: Paid Search >> Web site Page A >> Page B >> Page CVisit 2 : Natural...

You could also extract an Excel File from the Admin>Report Suite that helps you have a better understanding of all the custom Reports. But to my knowledge, the best way to do this is by connecting to the API call. I used to use the python library for Adobe API called "Dancing Cactus Library" in order to be able to connect with Python IDLE. But I'm not sure if with all the changes Adobe has made to the API it's still possible to do this.... This way you can extract also all the other native dimens...

The Android SDK will batch offline hits, then send everything at once when it's able to reach Adobe data collection servers. If the device runs off of Android, then yes, I'd recommend using the Android SDK for tracking. You can also investigate the Experience Platform SDK, which basically enables a Launch-like UI for mobile implementations.Good luck!

Assuming that the product classification information must be provided from an external source, there are two ways to do it. 1) Manually upload classification files (sound like this is what you are doing today). 2) Upload classification files via FTP. If you can work with your team to create the SAINT (product classification) files in an automated process, it shouldn't be a big deal to add an FTP upload to the end of that process. What's nice is that once automated, you can run the process more fr...

Hi Mario, if you haven't already, I'd recommend giving the v2 APIs a shot. It's the exact same API that workspace uses to pull reports, so if you can do it in workspace, you can also do it in the v2 API.Let me know if you're able to get it working!

Dynamic variables are best used to help keep image request lengths down.If you're getting the literal value 'd=c22' in reporting and you didn't make any changes to the dynamic variable in DTM, creating a ticket with customer care is going to be your best bet.Be sure to check to dynamic variable designator in DTM, because there's a solid chance that's what is causing the issue.

The s.camapign variable once it captures a "key" value, that value will always be visible during the date range of requested report.Key value will never be deleted from within Analytics database. If your CMS or server changes/stops using the tracking code it would just stop populating live pages(unless and older 3rd party bookmark lets say with an older ID is accessed).Your fix may have stopped live new instances. But users or another website may have picked up that bad(no source, medium URL).To ...

I know that this is a bit of an old post, but in case anyone searches for this and finds this post, it's worth noting that the _satellite.setCooke/readCooke/deleteCookie functions are not supported in Adobe Launch. So, you will run into problems when migrating there if you use these functions.

If you want to do it within DTM, you can simply make sure 'convert to lowercase' checkbox is checked on every rule.If you want to do it outside of DTM, you'd want to implement a bit of custom code that would iterate through the data layer and convert everything to lowercase. This page on stackoverflow seemed to have a couple ideas on how to effectively accomplish that:javascript - What's the best way (most efficient) to turn all the keys of an object to lower case? - Stack Overflow

Hi Marion,I would set the value to prop. If the prop is being set on every single hit (which it is as you mentioned), then you can easily break it down by any success event anyways. Having a time variable in an eVar is waste of eVar. As you can see in the documentation, getTimeParting the method used is again a prop and not an eVar. /Waqas

I understand what you're trying to do. You're simply wanting to capture the pageName on your success events. You could actually approach this in one of two ways.If you want to simply add pageName to a trackAction() call without capturing the remainder of your global variables that fire on every page view, you can simply fire the page name value you wish to track within a context value pair. For example: set a.pageName to the value you would prefer to see. When configured correctly, within your d...
