In the form:ready event you can set the caption text to remain black and normal by adding the followingthis.caption.font.fill.color.value = "0,0,0"; //Change the Caption to blackthis.caption.font.posture = "normal" //change the caption to normal

If Limbo1, Limbo2 etc are in the same dropdown and you want them to do the same thing then just add them to if statement:if(this.rawValue == "Limbo" || this.rawValue == "Limbo 1" || this.rawValue == "Limbo 2")

In formcalc the function Avg will calculate the average of only the fields with a value in them. So you would would put in the calcuate event of the average field:$ = Avg(Q1S1,Q1S2,Q1S3,Q1S4, etc)

I tried that just now and it seems to work. The only issue is that now if i go back and change staff required to 0 in a previous line it still adds the number of days up from both lines. I think I probably need to change to javascript so that it calculates each row independently then totals at the bottom but not too sure how to do that

In the second table you could put in say the calculate event of the name cell (in formcalc):$ = table1.Row[$.parent.index].namerenaming everything to what you have called them. Also depending on your hierarchy you may need a few more "parent"s in your index.

Yes!!!! It worked!! Thank you so much for your help! Really appreciate it!.I have zero experience with LiveCycle, so the form was made in InDesign, then exported as pdf. As I get more familiar with LiveCycle, I will definitely take your advice. Again, thanks a lot.

Ok - after a closer look i think I have found it. The docReady event works fine and the form locks off if i manually change the value in TextField1.As part of the script that changes the value in TextField1 there is an xfa.form.remerge() and I think this is what is stopping it from working.

Many thanks for your repy Magus069. Unfortunately I was not able to solve my problem with the javascriptkit approach. I have at last managed to solve my problem by revisiting and persevering with the approach provided in the thread at http://forums.adobe.com/message/5327761. Thanks are due to user Greig at Lands for posting an example in 'workspaces'.

Yes it seems to be an anomaly because I have other tables doing the same thing in the form and they all work - it is just this one table. I can't post it for confidentiality reasons but thanks anyway. I will have to find a way around it.

You mean the table in the last column that holds the buttons? No, those are set correctly too, and I just tried putting the buttons into a subform instead of a nested table, and the it does the same thing. I was hoping that had something to do with it...

Maybe the problem is what you are referencing. The if statement could be something like if ($.formattedValue == "Round") ....You could also just do an 'else' rather than an 'elseif' if you don't have any other options. Also I find for drop-downs it works better putting the script in the exit event rather than the change event.

if you want to do it via error message then you could put in the exit event of each box something like (in formcalc):if ($.rawValue == DropDownList2.rawValue) thenxfa.host.messageBox("You cannot choose the same activity")endifOtherwise you could just use the preOpen event of each box to reset the dropdown list options and remove the option that has already been selected.

An example of how to do it in formcalc would be (in the preOpen statement of the 2nd dropdown):if (DropDownList1 == "E_COMM") then$.clearItems()$.setItems("E_COMM_1_Ananlytical & Process,E_COMM_1_Asset Planning & Sourcing")elseif (DropDownList1 == "E_ENGC") then$.clearItems()$.setItems("E_ENGC_1_Chemical Engineer,E_ENGC_2_Chemical Engineer")endifYou could then do something similar in the 3rd box. The logic is the same for a java switch statement just the syntax is different.

you could do it as table rather than seperate text boxes. That way each column would keep its position.

The thing that I am having a problem with is that I made a different form that calculates the average no matter how may of the cells have numbers or not and I didn't use an if function. I have tried with this other form and and it calulates as if all the cells where being used. I am using the [*] in both instances but it only works in the one I did earlier.
