I am trying to mimic the standard 'Time Spent' metric within a pages
report with a calculated metric and am having difficulty. I have had
several calls with client care and they do not seem to be able to help
me.They have told me to use the following formula '(Total Seconds Spent
/ (Visits - Single Access)/60'. This formula comes no where close to
what is presented in the report.Any ideas? Thanks for help.
It has always been a challenge for me to compare metrics over time in an
efficient manner. For example, MoM, YoY, WoW, etc. I am typically
relegated to multiple dashboard widgets or ugly looking reports.I love
the ability in Ad Hoc Analysis to create 'Derived Metrics' and am
excited for this capability to come to Reports & Analytics. It would be
really nice to be able to create segments and derived metrics based on
dynamic time values. For example. If I am looking at last months visits
Please excuse the fact that I am not a developer at all. The current way
to perform cross device tracking is to overide the Visitor ID with an
Authenticated ID. The issue with this is that if a user views the first
10 pages of a visit anonymously and authenticates on the 11th page, a
new visit/visitor will be triggered from the 11th page moving forward.
The traffic sources of the original visit will be lost and the new
visit/visitor will look like typed/bookmarked or internal traffic within
It would be great to set an event that does not impact the bounce rate
similar to the 'non-interaction event' in Google Analytics. I would want
to use this metric to capture X # of seconds spent on the page. This
would allow me to get a better sense (not fully accurate) if consumers
are spending time with our landing pages where they bounce. We are
currently looking at single page visit rate vs. bounce rate but it still
does not give us a view into those that bounce. I also think this
If I am understanding correctly, I think this "partially" exists. See
selected text below. "Can be applied to all items, the top 1000 items,
or specific items. If the top 1000 items or specific items are selected,
each individual line item triggers the alert, not the summed total.
Option only available in reports with line items." I would think the top
1000 items would be enough for you to worry about. Although I am not
Right now, pushing dashboards to all users for existing users. When you
add new users you have to push exisitng dashboards to them. In our
industry we have users coming in and out frequently so having to push
globally shared dashboards everytime we add a new user is time
consuming. Can we add a feature that enables 'pushed to all users'
dashboards available to all users?
Currently you have to set default metric report by report and report
suite by report suite. This is an issue for us given we manage a ton
(150+ and counting) of report suites. We are currently leveraging Dr.
Teeth (via Client Care) to copy over our default metrics when we first
set up an RSID which has been a huge time saver. However, this option
does not help us when we introduct a new global metric that we want to
make a default metric. So it would be great to have the ability to:1.
Hi Ben, Much appreciated for the quick response. That is a great idea.
However, I don't believe Page Depth will include s.tl() server calls. If
this is the case, then segmenting on visits of Page Depth equal to or
greater than 1 will show single page visits or non single page visits.
In some cases, we actually see large differences between bounce rant and
single page visit rate. Thanks for the help!
It would be great to make report suite configuratin details available in
report builder. We do periodic QA's on configuration and it would be
great to pull this data quickly for a single RSID or multiple RSIDs.
it was great when Bounces and Bounce Rate was introduced into Stie
Catalyst 15. Can we add the ability to create a segment on bounced
visits? I cannot find this metric in the segment builder. I can see a
metric in the builder called Single Page Visit, but I do not believe
this is the same as a bounce. To add, this is something that is
available in Google Analytics. : )
why stop there. how about a single tool combining reports & analytics
and discover. With standard/premium it seems silly to have two tools....
just make one super product. easier said then done im sure. : )
Can you add: 1. The ability to compare more than 2 segments in Reports &
Analytics?2. The ability to compare segments in a trended report in
Reports & Analytics?3. The ability to compare segments in all standard
Reports & Analytics reports? i.e. Daily Return Visits does not allow
comparison of segments. Thanks!
Can we make calcuated metrics created in Ad Hoc Analysis (Discover)
available in Reports and Analytics (Site Catalyst)? Ad Hoc Analysis
gives you the ability to create calculated metrics with segments. This
would create much more powerful reporting options in Reports and
I manage calculated metrics for over 200 report suites. Because there
are so many report suites, it takes forever (5+ minutes) to enter the
caclulated metrics section with the admin panel and then another 5+
minutes to save a new metric. It would be great if this process could be
It would be really nice to have the concept of 'report suite groups' in
the classification rule builder. We currently have about 20 global rules
we use on each report suite. Each time we configure a report suite, we
have to add the report suite to each rule individually, which is
somewhat time consuming. It would be great to have the ability to create
'report suite groups' and apply the group (rather than the individual
report suite) to the rule set. This would allow us to add the new report
