Julie,The display and edit patterns on your table are not consistent with the formattedValue in the function call. You have the patterns defined as date{DD-MMM-YY}. The pattern on the function is date{YYYY-MM-DD}.You can either change the pattern on the function call to DD-MMM-YY or you can change the display and edit patterns on the table to YYYY-MM-DD.Steve

Eric,The form hierarchy always includes a subform. When you generate a new blank template you will see '(untitled Subform) (page 1)' in the form hierarchy. In this case the page is a subform. A form is typically constructed with multiple subforms on a page. Depending on the complexity of the form you may have subforms nested in subforms.It is possible to access an object without the subform name and apply calculations, such as the FormCalc date function. Whether or not it yields predictable resu...

Kevin,Given a form with the root 'form1', a subform called 'subform1', and four checkboxes called 'lateral', 'main', 'inlet', and 'other', you could run a script on the change event of each checkbox to compare the current checkbox with all the others. For example,form1.subform1.lateral::change - (JavaScript, client)if (form1.subform1.lateral.rawValue == "0") { if (form1.subform1.main.rawValue == "0" && form1.subform1.inlet.rawValue == "0" && form1.subform1.other.rawValue == "0") { // xfa.host.me...

Joseph,I suspect at the time the tutorial was written, the shipping release of LiveCycle Data Services was 2.5, which included JRun 4. In later releases of Data Services JRun is not included.An alternative to JRun that supports LiveCycle Data Services is Apache Tomcat (5.0 and 5.5). You can download Tomcat herehttp://tomcat.apache.org/download-55.cgiInstallation instructions for Data Services and Tomcat 5.5 are herehttp://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/es/lcds_installation.html#tomcatSteve

GMS,Designers often choose between applying rules at the time individual objects are filled versus applying rules to all objects when a form is submitted or saved. The following describes the first option.Radio buttons are nice option instead of check boxes. They can be made to look like check boxes and you don't have to manage the alternative response (un-check).Create a radio button list, called 'answer', defined as an exclusion group with the radio buttons 'yes' and 'no'. Jordan,Feed.java imports three Flex messaging classes: 1) flex.messaging.MessageBroker2) flex.messaging.messages.AsyncMessage3) flex.messaging.util.UUIDUtilsThese classes must be included in the build path. If you have a license for LiveCycle Data Services ES, these classes are available in ../WEB-INF/lib. If you do not have a license for LiveCycle Data Services ES, you can get these classes in the open source version of Data Services ES called BlazeDS.http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/bl...

The following code snippet gets the submitted PDF from the HTTP request input stream, calls Forms ES to render the PDF, gets the attachments from the rendered PDF, and iterates over the attachments. I added comments in the while loop, below, to indicate possible actions....Document formIn = new Document(req.getInputStream()); RenderOptionsSpec renderOptionsSpec = new RenderOptionsSpec(); renderOptionsSpec.setLocale("en_US");...

I am guessing it is because you don't have Acrobat Professional installed.If that is true and you need to install Acrobat Professional, the LiveCycle ES JBoss turnkey install should include a trial version of Acrobat. Check the installation for a folder called 'additional' and you should find an 'acrobat' folder.Otherwise, go and download a trial at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/tryout.htmlSteve

A node can be added to an XML instance using XSL in an XSLT Transform service, also.My sample process uses two input process variables:1. 'inputXml' of type xmluser12. 'approverId' of type stringfoobarI define the following XSLT template which consumes the input process variable 'approverId': ApproverID {$ /process_data/@approverId $} The result of the applying the XSL is as follows: user1 foobar The process could be designed to iterate over the input XML and the XSL.Steve

Kim,The limitation is probably in AD. Many LDAP directories have a limit on the number of rows/objects that can be returned from a query.Take a look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/243281. "To improve the query response time when you are searching for Active Directory objects in a Windows 2000-based organization, searches are limited to 10,000 objects by default."Steve

Hi Dave,If you are referring to LiveCycle Designer you do not need any additional software to author barcoded forms. The same is true of Acrobat Professional 8 and 9. However, in Acrobat Professional 6 and 7 there was a plug-in required to create barcoded forms. There is splash screen in both Designer and Acrobat Professional stating the requirement for LiveCycle Barcoded Forms ES. This is a common source of confusion. LiveCycle Barcoded Forms ES is a server-side component that provides barcode ...

As a well-known port number that is unusual.There are several ways to validate the installation and configuration of Reader Extensions.1. From LiveCycle ES Administration Console, click About. The splash screen includes the list of installed components.2. Petr,I think it boils down to the collection types in LiveCycle ES - map (java.util.Map or java.util.HashMap) or list (java.util.List). Also, consider Flex data type AMF3 serialization for Java documented at http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/201/html/ent_services_config_097_07.html.Steve

smde,I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish but I would discourage directly modifying the XML source.Typically a fill colour change is performed in response to an event such as a failed validation. In this case you would put your script in the validation event for the applicable object.Additionally, your script is not going to work because you are checking equality "==" rather than doing an assignment "=".this.border.fill.color.value = "225,0,0,";will change the fill colour to red.Steve

Julie,I think you are asking if you can pop open the calendar window when a user tabs into the field or puts mouse focus on the field. You cannot. To open the calendar window you have to click the drop-down arrow. The date/time field is designed to provide the option of date entry or date selection.Perhaps you could give the date/time field a Default value that induces the user to click the drop-down. Something like 'use window >>>>>'.Steve

Filter on the category PDF Generator and click on GeneratePDFService:1.1. Click on the Endpoint s tab, select WatchedFolder in the drop-down, and click Add.Steve
