Re: PDF Response Opening New Window - Adobe LiveCycle 03-05-2010
If you respond with XFDF/FDF/XFA XML properly built, Reader should not open a new window. This is a workflow that worked for sure from mid-1999 to late 2006, I've been hearing of problems recently but I haven't had a chance to test it with Acrobat/Reader 9.Anyway, responding with a PDF has never been a good practice, and that behaviour doesn't surprise me.

Re: Capacity Guide for PDF-G ES2 - Adobe LiveCycle 09-03-2010
Hi Carlos, the last time I've checked the guide was being delayed because of an open bug affecting the tests. See https://zerowing.corp.adobe.com/display/lc/LiveCycle+Sizing+GuidesBest regards,Giovanni

Re: Java API, SOAP and Timeout - Adobe LiveCycle 09-03-2010
Hi Marco,I guess that SOAP timeouts might depend on a number of factors, most (if not all) of which are out of control from the LC side of things. See for instance http://forums.adobe.com/message/2632055, where a colleague from engineering replies to the original poster. As you write, asynchronous calls would be the solution in these cases, and no one should really ever count on long timeouts with anything working over HTTP.HTH.Best regards,Giovanni

LiveCycle Digital Signatures signs a file and Acrobat does not validate the signature - Adobe LiveCycle 22-01-2010
Hello,I'm using this post to publish the files related to a thread started across internal mailing lists. I'm available for a Connect session to show the workflow I'm covering in my messages. "jboss_install_config_sec_7_2_2.pdf" is the original one that was provided to Digital Signatures, and "jboss_install_config_sec_7_2_2signed.pdf" is the output from LiveCycle that does not validate when opening it in Acrobat. Here's the thread so far, including my latest message via email:Hi, I’ve found a goo...

Java plugin in the LC ES2 Enablement image - Adobe LiveCycle 13-01-2010
Hello, while testing a demo involving a Java applet (since Flex doesn't do signatures with PKCS#11 tokens) I've found out that, for no apparent reason, the Java version integrated with browsers by default in the ES2 Enablement image is 1.5.0_16. This caused the applet to crash in either Firefox or IE, while installing the current 1.6 release everthing works fine. The applet actually works fine on non-64-bit Windows versions, so there's probably some problem with the old 1.5 versions, Windows Serv...

Re: Generic Java objects in LC processes - Adobe LiveCycle 13-01-2010
One more detail after playing with the "Search" function in Workbench.Actually even "java.lang.Object" is available and, after selecting it, it turns out to be the type "Object" which appears, strangely, under the types related to the "EMail" component. Therefore there's also an answer for those looking explicitly for generic objects, without resorting to the deprecated "object" in WorkflowDSC.Thanks again and best regards,Giovanni

Re: Generic Java objects in LC processes - Adobe LiveCycle 13-01-2010
Thanks a lot for the detailed answers.I really haven't noticed the "binary" type before, and, after searching for it I've also searched for the class/type I was hinting at in 3) and it is actually available in the LC registry. I must admit that, since LC Workbench ES exposes by default many more variable types than earlier LC releases, I hadn't used the "Search" feature for a long time. The bug I was mentioning is not related to this subject though, it's something already approved by product mana...

Generic Java objects in LC processes - Adobe LiveCycle 11-01-2010
Hello,in LC ES 2 there's still the old "object" type as part of WorkflowDSC but it's regarded as deprecated and existing only for backwards compatibility. While I understand that orchestrateable service operations should use either current LC types or define their own custom types mapped to Java classes/types, I'm wondering if there's a non-deprecated way of passing along basic Java objects/variables that are not matching any specific LC variable type and that do not match custom types declared i...

General comments - Adobe LiveCycle 01-10-2009
Hello,I've worked at all the labs on Tuesday, and I'd like to provide some feedback before today's feedback call.I had hoped to spend less time on the labs, but in order to carefully follow all steps and provide feedback on the lab instructions I've actually spent the whole day (including the unavoidable emails and phone calls from colleagues, partners and customers).Honestly I must admit I've been quite impressed by the quality of the labs. I've found only a few typos and only a few relevant bu...
